What to do, where to go? [OPEN]
Who: Terra and OPEN
What: Now that a few days have passed, Terra's getting settled in her little shack, and exploring the area as well.
When: 9/7
Where: Starting at Islet 1 and going all over.
Warnings: None
[ Islet 1 ]
[ The most troublesome thing of having no memories, is not knowing what she should be doing, exactly. She wasn't back on her own world anymore, so she didn't have to worry about anyone dragging her back to the Empire. On the other hand, ... no, that wasn't something to think about. Besides, her head was bothering her too much and her dreams certainly didn't help. Fresh air did, though, and for a large part of the morning, she sat outside her shack, looking around her surroundings. Finding food would also be a priority. At one point it occurred to her to check out that strange helmet in her bag. She pulled out the molehat, turning it over in her hands, tapping the light - until her fingers managed to find the trigger to turn it on and nearly blind herself as the light flashed in her eyes. ]
Eep!
[ She yelped in surprise, dropping the molehat and letting it bounce off to the ground, rolling away. She squinted, rubbing her eyes as she got to her feet - now where did she drop that thing..! And also, hopefully no one saw that. That was embarrassing. ]
[ Exploring other areas - Enso, Mana Pool, other islets, etc! ]
[ Thankfully she eventually did find her molehat. After that she was tired of lingering in the same spot, so she had mustered up her nerve to start exploring the islets and the area around them properly. She had her sword with her, checking it for damage. Although since she had her sword out, she had to mentally remind herself that some of the people here weren't... people. Reacting the way she normally would back home would be frowned upon. She'd emptied her pack of most of its items, leaving them back at her shack, mainly to make room for the things she came upon that she thought were interesting - or edible, soon coming to rest by one of the mana pools again. Anyone that popped through them would get a shy greeting from the half-esper ... provided she didn't get the bejeezus scared out of her. Again. ]

exploring
Hiya!
Re: exploring
O-oh...! What... are you doing up there?
no subject
[He hangs from the branches, swinging back and forth.]
I wanted to see if I could get a better view from up here, maybe find some fruit or stuff we could eat... Plus, it's good exercise!
no subject
Have you been able to see anything interesting...?
no subject
no subject
Me? I'm.. not interesting at all. I'm just...me.
no subject
no subject
Oh... I...
[ She hesitates a moment. ]
There's... a lot I don't know about myself still, either.
no subject
[This sounds like a serious conversation, and not one to have when you're hanging from a tree. So Mickey scoots to the trunk, beginning to climb down.]
Why's that?
no subject
Well...it's because I don't have any memories of myself. The last thing I remember is falling through a hole when the cave floor collapsed beneath me.
no subject
Whoa! Aw, gee, I'm sorry to hear that.
no subject
You don't have to be sorry - it wasn't anything you did.
no subject
... Well then, we gotta make sure you have plenty of good memories to make up for it!
no subject
I think that would be nice. [ She didn't want him to feel bad over her situation though~! ]
no subject
no subject
How do you keep track of them all?
no subject
[She walks over in curiosity, and sees Terra looking a bit dazed, and an odd hat on the ground nearby.]
Hello, dearie. Did you drop this?
[She points helpfully at the hat- normally, the polite thing would be to pick it up and offer it to Terra, but she'd rather not touch something if she doesn't know what it does.]
no subject
Oh, Muffet! [ She followed the pointing hand, letting out a sigh of relief. ]
Yes, I did, thank you. [ She trotted over to retrieve the hat. ]
I was trying to figure out the lamp on its head and accidentally flashed myself with it instead.
no subject
That certainly sounds unpleasant. Still, hopefully it will be more useful later. If you're planning on exploring somewhere dark, I've heard there are caves somewhere on the mainland.
[Where... did she hear that? The memory is oddly dreamlike, though she can dimly recall walking through them with someone.]
[Like the first time, before they came to the island, then. How frustrating.]
no subject
[ She brushed dirt off of the helmet, starting to lift it over her head to see if it's fit properly. Though she stops short for some reason, lowering it immediately with a grimace. ]
Maybe... I'll just carry it.
no subject
[She blinks curiously, noting Terra's sudden aversion to the hat. Was she just worried about shining it in her eyes again, or something else...?]
I suppose that could work well enough, although it might be more useful to have both your hands free to work with.
no subject
You're ... probably right. But I don't have to put it on now at least - [ she was relieved for that too. ]
I'll keep it in my backpack until I need it again, I think.. [ ANd deal with it then. ] If it gets very dark out here, I might end up needing it again.
no subject
If you're going to be exploring caves, it might also be useful if anything falls on you- small rocks getting dislodged from the ceiling, and the like.
no subject
[ She looked pensive, then just uncomfortable. ]
That... could be so, but .. I don't think I like wearing things on my head... if I don't have to, at least. [ Or maybe she just doesn't like things being near her head. It might not be as bad since she could just yank it off again. ]
no subject
That's fair- we all have our likes and dislikes. Why this particular one, if you don't mind my asking?
no subject
[ That ...was a really good question, actually. She frowned slightly, and shook her head. ]
... I-I don't know, I just... feel uneasy. .... maybe it's just that I don't know where it came from?
no subject
[Muffet is still curious, but she lets the matter drop- it's not really her business, she knows.]
That could be it, yes. I know humans tend to have more blindspots than I do, since you have fewer eyes.
no subject
It is a relief to have some kind of shelter. But I worry a little that I might be takeing someone else's home from them. [ She pauses slightly. ]
Although it seems like no one has been in it in a long time.
[ It's true, humans do have fewer eyes than a spider. Terra isn't sure that blindspots are the reason she was reluctant to put the helmet on though. ]
Also it someone won't be able to steal your things if you have them safely in your house. [ ... well there's robbers... ]
no subject
Still, if someone with a prior claim turns up, we can always speak politely with them and sort it out like reasonable people.
[In other words, finders keepers.]
Yes, everybody's been quite pleasant so far, but it will still be nice to have a proper door to close again. Besides, some of the wildlife can be quite... mischievous.
[She remembers taking Marcille's comb back from the pterax with a little pang of worry. It's been worryingly long since she's seen her around...]
no subject
The one I found there [ A nod back towards the shack she had been standing outside of ] doesn't look like it's in very good condition, but it'll do at least. I can't really complain about that.
[ And she supposed she could figure out how to fix the holes if she asked around. ]
Mischievous? What do you mean?
no subject
Oh, one of my friends had some trouble with this flock of what looked like feathered lizards, once- they stole a comb from her.
no subject
Feathered lizards? ..what a strange thing for them to steal.
no subject
And I admit I don't know what a creature without hair would want with a comb, but perhaps they're just fond of shiny objects.
no subject
Um... well if you ever need any help or anything... I ...actually don't know how much help I'd be, but you helped me when I first arrived here.
no subject
[As ridiculous as this island is, helping each other out is probably the only way they're all going to make it out okay.]
no subject
Ah.. I'll do that.
I ..guess I should get back myself. [ And try to figure out what she needed to do. ]
Probably wrapping?
Good luck with your efforts, dearie.
Yepyep~!
You too. Take care, Muffet!
