Try and Hear Me, Then I'm Done
You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for the duration of the event. While this log will focus on the past portion, you're free to use it for the future portion. As always, you can also make your own logs if that's your preference! Come the 21st, however, we'll likely get an additional log up for those who want to play around with their future echoes as well. Remember also that the present portion will be played out in Mu, during this month's Storytelling.
Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event. Bear in mind, however: death penalties will NOT be reduced for this event.

Of somebody important, (she says easily, as she stares at the water. Perhaps it isn't so hard to talk about after all... at least, not with her back to Kravitz. Still, she doesn't seem inclined to go into specifics.)
Usually, they guide me. Let me know I am on the right path. (She must not be, this time. Yasha knew that she had made a mistake letting herself become trapped upon these islands. Clearly she is meant to be back where she came from, following the Stormlord's path for her again as before.
She sighs.) I... don't think I fully understand, this time.
no subject
Is this... a friend, of some sort? Someone you have made a contract with, or... something bigger?
[Could be a warlock, could be something more mundane.]
If it uhm, helps in any way, it's difficult to make contact outside of these islands. It's only today anyone has seemed to be able to do so- perhaps that's why it isn't as clear as it typically is.
no subject
(They've talked about gods here before and Kravitz did not have an abnormal reaction to the concept at the time so Yasha is just assuming he's down with this kind of chat.)
Maybe... (So outside contact with the world is usually impossible, huh. That only makes her want to get off of the shores and into the sea even more. She feels so cut off from the Stormlord, from where ever she's supposed to be right now. And the others. She misses them too.) Why today, then?
no subject
Well, then.
Kravitz feels his lips part sightly as she asks her questions, tilting his head as his eyes drift back to the Raven Queen not far behind, spending some time errantly playing with a local bird. She seems content enough for the moment, and he's suddenly incredibly invested in this conversation they've begun to have.]
To be honest... I am not sure. But you're not alone in that. I too have finally had my Lady find me, after many months of being trapped here and cut off from her.
[He grips his hand into a fist and then out, traveling from looking at her out to the horizon where Yasha's gaze fell.]
I was afraid my Goddess could not reach me here, I-- was told we were cut off. But I am relieved to see her again, that she was looking for me.
no subject
Sometimes it is months, before I hear anything more.
(The Stormlord has no clear timetable. He has shown himself to her now more than ever, though it does not strike Yasha as strange just yet.)
Who is your Lady?
no subject
My Lady the Raven Queen, the Goddess of Death and the Natural Order. She ensures that when souls die they may pass on to the Astral Plane, and mortals do not cheat out or cheapen death.
[And of course, he puts a hand to his chest, trying to ignore the feeling of a heartbeat there that seems all the more foreign in his regalia like this.]
I am her enforcer, a bounty hunter for escaped and wayward souls. I keep the laws of the universe in check on her command.
no subject
You work for her? (That's interesting. Yasha hasn't heard of that kind of job before. She has no idea how she would work for the Stormlord if he were to ask her, but she knows she would accept any task he set her to do, so. Perhaps it's like that?)
How... do you hunt down a soul, exactly? I mean, how do you know they are wayward?
no subject
Well, yes, truly. It's not like a... I don't get paid like a mortal would. She grants me my life and my ability and in turn, I enforce her will. But as for as I find them... well, she always provides.
[He lays out his hand and moves his other over the palm, and instantly a large black tome appears, the outside cover displayed in swirling runes.]
This book allows me to look up the information of mortals, and see if they've ever died, or committed a crime against the natural order. I use it to find my bounties and deliver a sentence.
no subject
Every mortal alive is recorded in that?
(It doesn't look very large, but it is probably magic. Oh, what Caleb would not give to get his hands on this particular book. Yasha snorts.)
You must be very busy.
no subject
Well, you are correct-- I am very busy. Back in my world, that is. And my Lady is the one who presents me the information through this tome. This is more of a representation of how I can index it. Though it doesn't always... work perfectly here, I'll admit.
[He assumes it's an instance of being disconnected from his Lady, but it's... complicated.]
no subject
(Without the connection to his Lady, he does not have any targets. This is reassuring. The Mighty Nein as a collective have probably committed a few crimes against the natural order during the time they've spent together thus far.
She coughs, delicately.)
What do you do instead? I mean... do you have a job here, or...?
no subject
[He totally has, just for... personal curiosity and sometimes to be a dick about it. It's been complicated. He doesn't know how to get into it- not that he especially knows how to get into the second bit either.]
Well, I... not really, again. I have people here to protect and I guess just... chores to do, mostly. They run a shop that I assist with, as well as the necessities of food and shelter. But I am finding myself running out of tasks frequently. It's... well, to be honest, I kind of hate having nothing to do.
no subject
(Yasha's gonna... leave that other thing alone i.e Kravitz seeming like he probably is using the book because she's decided that she doesn't want to know. It seems like meddling to her.)
What... kind of shop do you run? I haven't seen very many shops here at all. (Honestly she's still getting used to there being no town center or anything, like, what do these people even do around here for weapons or drinks or clothing or)
no subject
Well, it's... kind of an everything shop, really. I live with three rather capable wizards who make use converting items on this island into usable products. They do everything from soaps to tools. I'm sure if you had a request they would be able to assist in some way. Mostly it's my job to make sure nothing gets stolen or that the child we're looking after doesn't just take something.
[He says, as if anyone has the power to stop Ren and as if he does it. Ever.]
There is also a tavern of sorts, though I haven't particularly spent time there.
no subject
(One of the others might like something too, she should tell them about it back at home. Besides, who knows what kind of things they'll have? Maybe she'll see something, and want it for later.)
I would also like to spend time at the tavern. It's odd, not... having found one, until now. Where is it?
no subject
[Unlike the people he has not warned that he would love to see fall into those traps, he kind of likes Yasha, and would not want her to be in a pit.]
As for the tavern, it's known as Denny, and it's by the largest lake on the island. Near the east coast, right in the middle. There are a few buildings over there- a bit hard to miss, frankly.
no subject
Okay. I guess I would have found it eventually, you know? But this way is... uh, more convenient.
(duh. She shifts a little in place, awkward again. As much as she does like to talk to him, she is restless for the shore, for staring out to sea and looking for hints of the Stormlord. Kravitz has distracted her for far too long, what if she's missed something? For a long moment, she gazes over his shoulder at the surf, but nothing seems at all out of the ordinary.)
no subject
Well, I must be heading off. I need to be a proper escort, after all. But I'll see you soon?
[He doesn't like lying to her like that, not when he knows his Lady will spirit him away from this place. But she is calling, so he must go.]
no subject
(She is truly unable to lie like a normal person, but that's fine. She has a plan right now, and it's to find the Stormlord, and follow him into the ocean so he can show her where she should go next. So she probably isn't going to see Kravitz again any time soon, but she's okay with that.)
See you.
no subject
He nods, likely unbeknownst to her, and lets his Lady lead him back into the brush.]
