October Event: Feeling Like a Ghost (Part I)

OCTOBER EVENT: FEELING LIKE A GHOST

Who: Anyone and everyone
What: Your past returns to haunt you
When: October 10th and onward
Where: All over!
Warnings: Character death, as well as potential for discussion of trauma and suicide ideation - please mark as you go!

You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for the duration of the event. While this log will focus on the past portion, you're free to use it for the future portion. As always, you can also make your own logs if that's your preference! Come the 21st, however, we'll likely get an additional log up for those who want to play around with their future echoes as well. Remember also that the present portion will be played out in Mu, during this month's Storytelling.

Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event. Bear in mind, however: death penalties will NOT be reduced for this event.

Event Timeline

[ ♆ ] October 10th: The ghosts of the past appear.
[ ♆ ] October 20th: The warped Storytelling occurs, the Storyteller returns, and those who have died are revived.
[ ♆ ] October 21st: Future echoes replace the ghosts of the past.
[ ♆ ] October 25th: With equilibrium restored, all visions vanish, and life returns to how it was.

"Is this one of those things that's defying timelines? We saw normal Noct and older Noct, and we don't know where either of them went... What if he's trying to get back?"

Honestly, they had very little in the way of answers, and it felt good when he heard Noct reassure him that of course he was trying to get back. He wanted to have Noct back, even if it meant being away from their world.

"Would they even remember this place to know they need to get back?" Ignis recalls far too well how he forgot this place even existed when he was sent back. It was only when he returned that he remembered it. Was it possible for someone gone for a long time to actually start getting their memory of this place back?

So many questions. This is one thing all of Ignis' years of study fail him on and he can't help but feel uncertain and uneasy. He doesn't like how unclear this all is. Fortunately, there is a comforting squeeze on his hand to remind him of why he needs to keep muddling through it.

"Iris has never been here, though. Why would she appear if it has something to do with a person attempting to return?"

"Maybe it's a case of people coming here gone wrong. If people are traveling through dimensions or something... I dunno."

Honestly, he had no answers. He was a simple boy who just wanted his friend back.

Mu is a capricious land... Isn't that what the Storyteller had told them before they left? And, and it's through Mu that new arrivals seem to come. It would only make sense for departures to go through there are well and if it's going out of control...

Iggy, you're thinking too hard! I can smell your brain burning from here!

The soft giggle that follows that declaration causes Ignis so smile even as he reaches up to adjust how his visor is sitting on his face, "The Storyteller warned us that Mu might act up, but this is so different from anything I ever experienced there. Still, you may be closer to correct than we think. Neither of us are experts where that strange land is considered."

The fact that his idea was acknowledged was good enough, and coming from Iggy very reassuring.

"Yeah, it's not like it's the first weird thing to happen. We... We just gotta take care of Noct until things go right again."

Because eventually they'd end up with some version of Noct when everything lined back up right.

"Good thing we have so much practice with that, isn't it?" Ignis makes a motion like he's just reached down and gathered a small child into his arms. He then smiles at Prompto, sending a smile in the direction the blonde's Noctis is suppose to be in too.

"This one needs food, unsurprisingly. Are you hungry? I can make something for you both."

He smiled, and while Noct seemed adamant on going out, Prompto argued with him.

"Come on, you can't pass on Iggy Food. We can go out after we eat!"

He was just glad to have things 'settled'. And even more glad to have incoming food. Much as Noct wanted to head out, Prompto headed towards the house to get ready for nom noms.
