Try and Hear Me, Then I'm Done
You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for the duration of the event. While this log will focus on the past portion, you're free to use it for the future portion. As always, you can also make your own logs if that's your preference! Come the 21st, however, we'll likely get an additional log up for those who want to play around with their future echoes as well. Remember also that the present portion will be played out in Mu, during this month's Storytelling.
Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event. Bear in mind, however: death penalties will NOT be reduced for this event.

He dragged out the syllable, clearly still thinking about it. Maybe this time was a bit different, but it couldn't be that Noct wasn't here. He was right there.
"Maybe he's, like, having trouble showing up totally right now? There are a lot of dreamlike things that happen here, and the glitches that happened before."
The glitches in particular made it seem more possible. He held up his camera a bit, showing it to Jules to ease his worries.
"Just going to take some pics."
no subject
Jules hadn't been there that long, so maybe there had been times when something had actually worked out, but so far that hasn't happened to him. Everything was just trying to hurt him or kill him. Not really much different from his normal life, really, except here it was easier to see it coming.
no subject
All harmless fun. He and Noct teased, they never tried to really hurt the other.
"He and I are like family." Wait, Jules didn't have a good family. "Uh... Like the kind of family that would never let something happen to each other."
Better? Explained? It was good enough for him, anyway. He'd missed Noct so much, he just wanted to have some time with him again. And that was why he kept walking with some extra pep to his step.
no subject
"You're family by the blood definition only. Not shut the minsid hell up."
The delay was enough that Jules had to take a few jogging steps to catch up.
"You and Noct might but, but whatever you're seeing isn't your friend."
no subject
It seemed completely pointless for someone to bother haunting him when he was just a pleb. He glanced back, sure Jules was making more out of this than necessary, but he wasn't about to get mad at him for worrying. He just wanted to ease his mind.
no subject
He didn't really know how else to explain betrayal. Most of the time nobody truly believed it until they experienced it.
no subject
"Hey, Noct. Remember when we were in high school and we used to go to the arcade? What was the name of the arcade?"
A small silence, and then he glanced back towards Jules with a smile. "It's cool."
no subject
"If that doesn't show you that your test isn't isn't valid, I don't know what will. This place pulls these things out of our heads as a way to torment us."
no subject
"Well, then..." He glanced back over at the air. "Okay, tell me something only you and Iggy would know, and then I can just ask Iggy if it's true later."
Seemed fair enough. If he didn't know the answer himself, then no one could read his mind for it. Of course, he wasn't planning on telling any of Iggy's deep secrets, so he just listened quietly as the phantom told a story of how Ignis used to sneak him some chocobo-egg sweets when he was feeling down. With a small nod, he glanced back at Jules.
"I can talk to Iggy later about it and we'll see for sure."
no subject
"Try not to get yourself killed. Following blindly is a great way to do that."
He looked down, obviously upset.
"And consider what I've been trying to tell you."
no subject
"We'll stick close to the islets. I've gotta take care of the birds, anyway. It'll be fine."
Surely if Prompto wasn't going very far he wouldn't worry so much. He could see for himself that things were okay.
no subject
The last time something crazy had happened none of them had needed to go anywhere to be effected. Some of them had been effected so much they'd nearly died. This time couldn't be all that much different.
no subject
But he was also weary. He just wanted to hold onto his friend and be hang with the person he cared for most in the universe. Noctis had always meant so much to him, as his first and, for most of his life, only friend.
Didn't mean he didn't care about other people or their feelings, though. Jules was fearful, and he couldn't blame him for that. If anything, he felt sort of grateful that he actually cared, even if he was sort of 'getting in the way' of him and Noct time.
So he resorted less to arguing and more to bargaining. "What would make you feel better?"
no subject
"I'm a paranoid bastard. There's nothing you can do that will make me feel better."
Because he literally trusted nothing. At all. His paranoia was even worse here.
no subject
"We'll be around the islets, and if not we'll be nearby the mana pool on Nuidan or Enso. If you're worried, you can see for yourself."
His gaze turned.
"It's fine Noct. He's just worried."
no subject
"Just take everything he tells you with a grain of salt. Or a damn big helping of salt. There's more than just the face value."
His expression completely closed off and he looked down. Prompto was going to do whatever he wanted.
no subject
"I'll be careful. See you around. We're gonna hang by the ocean and get some fishing in."
Which Prompto didn't typically do, but it was still something that could be useful.
He wasn't sure what else he could do, short of completely ignoring Noct and he... just couldn't do that. Not when it had been so long. With some time, he figured Jules' worries would be eased, and it wouldn't kill him to stay nearby. Despite other problems, he felt relatively safe as long as he had quick access to home.
