prettypurpleparlor: The way into my parlor (Default)

I'm grabbing honeyed vines [Closed]

Who: Muffet, Chip, The Knight, Grimm, and The Drifter.
What: Harvesting honey from these beehives.
When: At various points from the tenth onward.
Where: Nuidan, the bee houses.
Warnings: None, unless you really don't like bugs.

[Muffet had chosen the beehives as her task to assist Harv with early on, but she suspected that others might like to benefit as well, and had been pleased to find a small group of volunteers when she made an offer over the network.]

[The weather is pleasant as she approaches the hives, surveying them thoughtfully.]

So, does anyone have any questions before we start? We probably ought to plan this out a bit, first...

[The Drifter does not do well with simply standing about and waiting. Their plans tend to involve very little actual preparation beforehand, culminating in the act of simply bull-rushing what needs doing and doing it in the simplest and most direct fashion possible. The issue, of course, is that this will hardly work very well when the task that needs doing is one that would not benefit from being hacked to pieces.]

[They can register the pitched whine of bees who do not care very much for having their hives taken apart. Their head goes to one side, inquisitive, and they advance to regard the frame with undivided focus. The folds of their clothing are too heavy for the presence of agitated insects to bother them, and so they are safely disregarded.]

[Instead, they point at the combs, gooey with crystalline excess.]

will need jars

[Unlike his two silent companions, Grimm was fine with standing and waiting for instructions. Oh, he certainly threw caution to the wind as he reveled in battle but for the rest of the Grimm Troupe's death-defying tricks required careful preparation least someone lose a limb or a tent is burned down. Hypothetically.

The whine of angry bees causes the Grimmchild to take shelter in the folds of the Troupe Master's cloak, peering out at the spectacle their predecessor's partner has caused. They're curious about the bees but not particularly interested in being stung. Grimm himself is not nearly as covered as Chip and the Drifter, but if the bees begin angling towards him long enough, he could merely teleport out of the way.]

I agree that some jars would be very helpful or else something similar. Muffet, how will smoke be needed to used to calm the bees down?
demonpuppy: and i in fact do not know any better or know anything at all, i forgot what i was trying to say here (if i didn't know any better)

[Meanwhile, in the less calm corner:]

Aaaaaaa no no no you're gonna get stung--!

[Chip runs over in a panic, trying to swat away the bees from the Knight and Drifter. It's a pretty ineffectual effort, and mostly winds up as Chip waving one arm around wildly while their free arm is used as a shield for their face. If they were thinking they might realize that they're the most vulnerable of all three, but...well.]

[They're doing their best.]
fireindreams: (♪ I'll give up shrug my shoulders)

apologizes for the delay in response

[Grimm knows the Knight's biology may make the stings less effective that the bugs may wish it would, but perhaps this will succeed better with everyone on task.

He addresses Muffet first.]

I am capable of producing flames so gathering some smoke shall be simply a matter of finding sticks and grass to burn. But first, perhaps we shall deal with our friends. Knight, if you would remove your charm please...

[If they choose to listen to Grimm he will pick them up to move the child of Void away from the angry bees unless they get up and walk away on their own. If the stings bother him, he does not say.]

[ They look over at Grimm's voice, and the swift change in their body language is unmistakably sheepish. They don't need to speak to convey what's clearly the feeling of "Oops."

They place the frame where it's more easily accessible before removing their charm, as he asks; immediately becoming much smaller and leaving a swarm of confused bees behind. They're entirely docile in allowing themselves to be picked up and moved away by the Troupe Master; it's a comical contrast to their normal liveliness.

[Hey, look, it's fine. The idea was to not harm the bees, and while they might not be happy about this entire debacle, they certainly aren't damaged, which is for the best. Right? Right?]

[The Drifter instead settles for trying to usher Chip away from the confused buzzing. Probably best not to make things worse, now.]
demonpuppy: or i won't, you never know with that sort of thing (one day i will get my revenge)

[personal profile] demonpuppy 2018-10-06 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
[Chip flinches a little bit at Muffet's instruction, but they aren't as tripped up by it as they might have been. Instead of wincing and apologizing they just whine and allow themself to be guided away from the cloud. A few bees follow them and Chip swats at them again.]

Leave me alone! Stupid!

[Huffing, they look up at Drifter with worry--they're mostly covered just like Chip is, but...]

Did you get stung?
hyperlit: (my strongest potions you'd better go)

[personal profile] hyperlit 2018-10-06 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
[The Drifter merely blinks, once, the sole indication of their confusion that the child would be concerned as to their well-being.]

not very

[...or rather, if they did, they certainly haven't noticed it. The raised lump of a bee-sting is a more common hurt, and one that does not stand out from the same dull, chronic ache that suffuses their body all hours of the day. But they do point to their mantle, adjusting it slightly - it did protect them from the worst of it, after all.]

keep covered
