it's a hell of a scene but there's no story [ closed ]
Who: Newt + the unwitting residents of islet 4 cottage 3
What: Local scientist passes out! Washington man drags him back to abandoned house. THIS IS A GENERAL HOUSE MINGLE LOG so u can tag around and stuff
When: September...4th? it's backdated
Where: Islet 4, cottage 3
Warnings: Language, probably, but I'll edit if anything comes up!
[So Wash is going to have some explaining to do.]
[He starts by de-armoring, however, because at least then he's not liable to get called Samus anymore. Whoever that is. Feels especially dumb when he's wearing a hoodie that literally says Washington State across the front, but it's also likely to raise fewer questions than his armor.]
[He just straight up threw the guy on Wash's own pallet, because fuck it, he's already drooled on his armor like a dick, so what's one more shred of property damage to his name? Except he doesn't even know his name. That's order of business number one.]
[Order of business number two, probably, is explaining what the fuck is going on when the roommates walk in to realize that their decrepit shack now has a passed-out scientist just...hanging out inside it.]
[It's fine.]

[Or the Sangheili got fed up with Covvie bullshit. Wasn't even anything humanity pulled. That's how fucked they were.]

[That is the extremely edited cliffnotes version.]
Covvie infighting was what saved us. Civil war from within the ranks.

No giant robots on our end, though there were a few supersoldier projects. Everyone wanted to be the magic bullet that would figure out how to end the war with as few casualties as possible, by the end.

Did you? [He's guessing the answer to that one is "fuck if I know, buddy."]

[Which is kind of a callous dismissal, but there's Agent Washington for you.]

[Not that he hopes Newt fails, but he's being dry because his optimism levels are, shall we say, not terribly high.] Just try not to rebreak your ribs.

[said as though this should be obvious. Because it should be obvious Wash c'mon. But he is trying to sit up now, albeit much more slowly.]

[He doesn't order him further. Just watches, skeptically, as Newt does...what he does, typically ill-advised, but Wash isn't his C.O. and he's exceeding glad of that. This guy would be a nightmare to micromanage, he thinks.]

Shit--fuck--[he hisses, even as he starts to prod at his ribs gently] Can't be more than a hairline fracture, at most, probably sprained...

[He sighs. He's already not liking this conversation, and he's about to like it a whole lot less.]
I know people who might be able to help, but it's not what I'd call a scientific method.
