Reseed the Meadow So the Cows Don't Starve
As of September 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to the new island of Nuidan.

Travelers will arrive on a mana pool situated on the E5 square. The temple is situated in an oasis-like backdrop of amber-colored sands circled with overhanging palm trees. From the island's center, the four corners of the island and its fixed seasonal shifts are more than obvious: to the north, the rainfall-soaked meadows of spring; to the east, the thick clusters of the trees of autumn; to the south, the snow-capped mountains of winter; and to the west, the warm summer sands and pleasant heat.

And inside the temple? The avatar of the island Nuidan is waiting.

Howdy, Muffet!

[Asgore, at least, looks much more hale and hearty than the last time they had a long conversation.]

How are you today?

[That's a relief, certainly. She greets him with a polite smile.]

I've been doing quite well, so far- this place seems lovely, and I haven't run into any trouble. And yourself?

I am well! I just met the deity of this island - he is quite friendly.

[Okay, well, maybe it was more along the lines of business-like. Asgore will take it.]

He mentioned that there is a greenhouse somewhere to the west of here, so I am off to look for it. There are fields of crops to the north as well! [He might be more useful there, but he's sort of...more interested in the greenhouse?]

They were quite charming, I thought. A very motivated person.

[Muffet can appreciate a fellow workaholic. She looks intrigued at the mention of a greenhouse, too.]

Oh? Might I join you on your search? I'd be curious to see how they've constructed such a thing.

Of course! I should be glad for the company!

[He seems actually quite delighted by the offer.]

This way is the summer area, I believe. Spring is to the north...so I suppose it must go around in order.

[Muffet smiles cheerfully. She's still not entirely sure how to feel about Asgore, for any number of reasons, but there's nothing terribly serious here and now, just a pleasant errand. For the moment, she'll take the simplicity of it and enjoy the peace.]

That would make sense. Their domain does seem to be harvest, so I suppose having all the seasons around when they need them would be helpful. I wonder if they control the weather in this place, too?

That seems like it would be especially useful. It is hard to imagine a harvest god experiencing a drought, or even a bad season.

[Asgore is at ease enough with Muffet; he may not know her, specifically, well, but walking and talking with monsters is old hat.]

I wonder how long it has been since they had anyone to help them here.

[She falls into an easy rhythm of conversation, walking and talking with him as she idly surveys the surrounding landscape.]

The Storyteller mentioned they'd been asleep for a good four thousand years, before the first batch of us arrived. I can't be certain if the other gods were alone for that long- there are other people in this world, and I can't imagine Harv resting and going dormant at all- but it wouldn't shock me if it had been a very long time indeed.

It is difficult to imagine them doing so. They have such a strong work ethic!

I hope having people to enjoy their harvest will be nice for them. It is good to have help too, I am sure, but a crop is meant to be used.

[This place needs to stop making the nice dog gods sad, it is unacceptable.]

Quite right- there's no point to storing up food if it's just going to sit around uneaten. Besides, some tasks simply go more smoothly with multiple people working on them, no matter how much power one has.

I think that using godly power to farm would be very different from really getting one's paws dirty.

[He'd clearly prefer the latter.]

But then, I could not say which they would prefer.

Hmm... [Muffet considers the point thoughtfully.] I wonder if it does feel different, to them? In a way, they seem to be even less physical than we are. If their power is that much a part of them, might it feel like doing the work themselves?

Perhaps so! They must be using a great deal of magic to keep all of this running.

[He hasn't even seen it all, and that's incredibly clear already.]

They do all seem to be impressively powerful within their own domains. It's quite fascinating to see...

It is! In Beacon, all of us who had magic lost the ability to use it. I have enjoyed getting to see what beings from other worlds are capable of, after coming here.

[That raises an eyebrow, proverbially speaking.]

Goodness, I've been frustrated enough by my magic being more limited here- I can't imagine having it sealed off entirely.

It was...distressing. Especially at first.

[He seems a little ill-at-ease with admitting that, glancing off at the horizon on his left.]

Perhaps that is why I have not minded our current limitations as much. At least I am capable of something.

[She nods solemnly.]

It could always be worse. ...Of course, it could always be quite a bit better, too.

I suppose you could say that about most things. But I am grateful that here, we can work to make them better on our own.

[Without like, murder or something. His standards are low.]

Well, what else is life for?

[Some people do this thing called "relaxing", Muffet. Maybe you should try it sometime.]

Quite so.

[The trouble with having an entire species made of compassion: sometimes you end up with everyone trying to do that 'oh no it's all right, I can handle everything so no one else has to' nonsense. At the same time.]

I wonder how much things might continue to change, as we go on? We've already done a great deal...

[Guarded the sun, killed a god, warred against the standing water...]

I confess, I do hope that things will be calmer for a while. This island seems perfectly lovely...

[But he'd been very fond of Umui too, back when it was new and he thought it was only a land full of flowers.]

I know that I was missing for a little while, but there always seems to be one disaster or another happening when I am here.

[Muffet grimaces.]

Regrettably, I can assure you it was equally messy before you first arrived here. There are brief moments of peace between disasters, but there always seems to be something around the next corner.

Oh, I see. [.....] Well, Harv seems like a good god, and their island is very well-maintained. Perhaps this peace shall hold a while!

[He sure does sound like he's also trying to convince himself of this! But to express doubts like that in front of another monster - well, he's kept himself from doing that for so long that it's barely even a conscious choice anymore.]
