Reseed the Meadow So the Cows Don't Starve
As of September 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to the new island of Nuidan.

Travelers will arrive on a mana pool situated on the E5 square. The temple is situated in an oasis-like backdrop of amber-colored sands circled with overhanging palm trees. From the island's center, the four corners of the island and its fixed seasonal shifts are more than obvious: to the north, the rainfall-soaked meadows of spring; to the east, the thick clusters of the trees of autumn; to the south, the snow-capped mountains of winter; and to the west, the warm summer sands and pleasant heat.

And inside the temple? The avatar of the island Nuidan is waiting.

Welcome to the new island of Nuidan! Prompto, if you're hungry you only need to ask. After all, you've certainly earned your share.

[Ignis had started with some meat stored in the temple, but that was hardly enough to fulfill the task at hand. Even with Prompto's kills--all done with an accuracy that makes Ignis proud of how his friend's skills haven't slipped despite their extended stay here--there won't be enough. Especially with what he's sharing with others. Harv is right. He's definitely going to need more space and resources to work. That will mean a trip down into the wintry section of the island. That's not something Ignis is looking forward to, but hopefully it won't be so bad with Prompto and Ardyn--if he can convince the redhead to continue to lending his aid--along.

Without waiting for a reply, Ignis starts to cut a section of meat off what he's working with. Likely, Prompto will demur even though there is no reason to. Hopefully, this will cut off any objections before they are even given voice.]

[He wants to be restrained, but island life has taken some toll over time. The smell of cooked meat was too tantalizing to reject, and he quietly edged closer to take a piece of meat.]

If you insist...

[He answered a little sheepishly, as if he was just complying with Ignis' wishes, but once he had the meat in hand he plopped back on his ass and took a big bite. He rubbed away the bit of juice that trickled down his chin and chewed the too-large chunk he'd taken out of it. It was nice to feel like he could eat something without reserve.]

D'you fink 'e nee' 'ore 'eat?

[He spoke with the mouthful stuffed into a cheek.]

[If he insists. Of course, he does! Do you really need to ask, Prompto?

Pleased that the blonde has taken what he's been offered without too much complaint, Ignis decides to forego scolding him for talking with his mouth full. He's sure to have another chance to do so soon enough.]

I'm positive we will. Harv has requested quite a large amount to store. More than what is here at the temple or what we could easily gather and cure in this location. Fortunately, they also mentioned there are some curing huts and more animals to hunt in the winter-bound part of the island. I would suggest we head out there before too long.

[Chewing the large bite, he finally swallowed loudly.]

Man, I'm gonna need more bullets if we need to get more meat than this...

[Ten just wasn't enough for good hunting. Small animals didn't have enough meat. Big animals tended to be able to take more than one bullet. It kept hunting limited. He'd have to deal with more melee if he wanted to get more, and he wasn't built like Gladio.]

So we've gotta go in the cold? ...I still have my coat.

[He could only hold back so long, so he tore at another chunk of meat. Thankfully, Ignis wouldn't be able to see the mess of juice he was getting around his mouth as he fought another bite off.]

Ignis might not be able to see the mess Prompto is making, but he can imagine it with the sounds and how quickly the blonde is eating. Here's hoping he doesn't choke on anything.

"Fortunately, this will be a team effort. I suspect we will be able to bring down bigger game if we work together to weaken it first and then have you take a mercy shot, so to speak," Ignis digs around in his supplies for a moment before coming up with an extra square of cloth and passing it to Prompto, a subtle hint to wipe his mouth.

"I'm afraid so. Harv was very clear on which quarter held the huts. If you still have your coat handy, though, then that makes things much easier. Ardyn doesn't feel heat and cold like we do. He will be all right as well."

He was a very clean boy! He gladly accepted the cloth, wiping his chin off. Fortunately, he did manage to swallow his next piece before speaking.

"Ardyn?" He pursed his lips. He hadn't been getting on Iggy or trying to judge him for whatever he was doing, but that didn't mean he was ready to go on camping trips with Ardyn. "...Why can't Gladio come along? I mean, he's our tank, right? Gotta have a tank."

Laughing weakly, he did his best to respond light-heartedly, hiding the tenseness in his voice.

Ignis does his best not to frown at Prompto's reaction. He was expecting it, honestly, but that doesn't mean he's looking forward to the conversation that is going to follow.

"Yes, Ardyn. His resistance to the elements is a plus considering where we are going. Very few people on the island are prepared to face such harsh weather. I realize that we are both more accustom to fighting with Gladio, but you and I both know his strength and survival skills can be put to better use helping elsewhere. His skill will be wasted on such a simple task," Ignis hates being so logical about this, especially when he knows Prompto has a very good reason for being emotional about it, but when it comes to planning for such a potentially dangerous trip, logic has to win out.

Swallowing, he wondered how long the three of them were going to be out there. Still, whatever his feelings, he wasn't one to try and destroy the mood or bring things down.

"Good times," he said quietly, tearing off another chunk of meat after setting the cloth down on his knee. "'ow lon' 'o you 'ink i'll 'ake 'o fin'?"

Prompto might not argue things farther, but it's clear that he's not happy with the answer he's given. This does make Ignis frown finally, though for a completely different reason.

"You don't have to come with us if you would rather not. I'm sure he and I will be fine."

It will take longer with one less set of eyes, but he doesn't want to make Prompto feel more uncomfortable than he has to.

He swallowed a large bite. A little bit too much, perhaps, because he might not have chewed it all properly.

"Dude. Not leaving you to go it alone." With Ardyn. "I'm coming, too."

He couldn't even imagine sending Ignis out in the cold alone with no one but Ardyn accompanying him, even if Ignis had some sort of trust in the other man now. What if something happened?

The 'with Ardyn' might not have been said, but Ignis hears it in his mind. Still, he appreciates Prompto not saying it aloud. He knows the blonde will probably never be comfortable with what he and Ardyn have, but he's civil about it and that is all Ignis will ask for.

He bows his head slightly, a grateful smile crossing his face, "Thank you, Prompto."

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down...

"I've still got my stuff from when I got here, but what are you going to wear? If it's gonna be like when we were in Niflheim, you can't just walk around the Glacian in a nice button up. That shit's cold even when you have a nice coat..."

Of course, he won't be running around in just a button up. He's got his jacket!

...

Not that, that is really much better.

"I survived the cold when the sun died, didn't I? I'm certain I'll be fine. My jacket is warmer than it looks."

"That's not gonna be anything compared to this. Come on, dude, we've gotta find you something warmer. Gladio will pummel me if I let you turn into an ice-cream bar."

He had no intention of watching Iggy needlessly suffer. It was already going to be rough enough out there.

Ignis sighs. This fuss is exactly what he was hoping to avoid. Still, it's comforting to be reminded of how much their friendship has grown since coming here.

"I promise you. I have no plans of becoming an Iggicle while we're out there. Once I'm done here for the day, we can go looking for something. Is that an acceptable plan?"

"Yeah, sounds good to me. We should be able to find something. I mean, there were a bunch of those clothes before... You should've seen some of the cool tank tops I found!"

And it hurt a bit that he couldn't, but if he could see again once, maybe again sometime in the future.

"That's a plan, then."
