What: Clothes were requested. Clothes are now granted.

Where: meet me at the room that's literally filled to the brim with clothing in 15 minutes
Warnings: It's just clothes, what could possibly go wrong!
Notes: Everyone gets free clothes whether they participated in the actual request or not. CLOTHES FOR THE ENTIRE ISLAND.


There's a room in the Storyteller's temple; it was once empty, and now it's...not. It is, in fact, full of clothing of all sorts, to the point that it might be slightly difficult to find exactly what you're looking for.

Oh well. It's there now, no takebacks.

[Rainbows are symbolic? It was strange that people would turn a meteorological phenomenon into a symbol but he nodded, wondering what they symbolised.]

Gay... Ceej uses that word sometimes. [And he had thought he had figured out the meaning from context. Context was difficult as it was mostly dream memories of a world that had never existed. Maybe he had been wrong... All he really knew that Connor used it to mean something different than how Shakespeare had.]

I thought it just meant that you loved men. If you were a man. Perhaps women if you are a woman? [As opposed to the other? He had assumed men who loved women were who Connor had meant by The Straights TM but that sounded more like a Connor thing than a real thing.]

Why would he want to keep that hidden? [And if it was a secret then Ignis was doing a terrible job of keeping it.]

It does. Women that like other chicks are lesbians. And if you're an equal opportunity flirt, like me, then it's bi... sexual. [Yes, the whole word not just bi even though it's usually just bi. HOW IS HE EXPLAINING THIS AGAIN!?]

We worked for the crown. Some people think it's not okay, disapprove for whatever stupid reason. We couldn't risk doing anything that might reflect badly on the Prince. No matter how slight or stupid. So I kept my flirting to ladies and Iggy just never expressed interest in anyone. It's different here and really it's different back home too, just because of the time that's passed for me.

So I dunno, maybe he won't mind wearing it here.

[Automatically he gets out his notebook and a pencil to write all of this down before he realises he can't. His breath catches in his throat but he forces past it. He won't panic. Not again.

It's fine, it's not like he won't remember everything Gladio tells him anyways.] So it was considered acceptable for you to flirt with women but not men? [Gladio and Ignis' world is a strange one but then he guesses... in the books he's read romance was mostly, if not always between men and women.

However no one he had ever met from any world had ever... disapproved of love of any kind. No one had disapproved of Diarmuid and Waver getting married. No one had disapproved of his love for Rat... Well that was not true but Reno disapproved for different reasons still misguided but it was not that Rat was male.] Perhaps... You should ask him.

[He notices that hesitation but he assumes it's just Shion deciding Gladio talking about weird sexuality quirks from his world isn't worth taking notes on. For now at least.]

To a point, yeah. I mean... I was expected to marry someone with at least decent lineage and pop out a couple babies by now. [He sighs, a little wistful, looking back down at the shirt, fingers tracing over the heart. As much as he doesn't like the idea of arranged marriages he'd had enough freedom if things hadn't gone to shit...]

Carry on the Amicitia line, y'know? [But he was already getting so old, especially for someone in such a dangerous line of work. Maybe he just wasn't destined to be a dad, no matter what Ignis said to the contrary.]

Oh [That he understands a lot more. That was very much like No.6. Continuing the human population.]

I understand... In my first world that's how it was done. Having children was important but love was... It's illogical. It makes no scientific sense and so you could apply to be married, to be together to raise children but you weren't expected to want to be in love with people outside of that.

[It's not quite the same as what Galdio is talking about, but it's an easier way to understand it. In No.6 any couples that were together were men and women but that's because they could have children.]

Science had nothin to do with it, just... ugh. [He scrubs a hand over his face then back into his hair.]

Side effect of being nobility. It's stupid but it's something that was always expected of me. [A sigh wistful and sad, glancing back down at that shirt before stuffing the bottom of it into his back pocket. He'll ask Iggy about it later.]

Never really minded that part. 's too late now, though.

[So not quite the same. But Shion nodded and tilted his head at the sigh as Gladio put the shirt in his pocket.]

You wanted children?

[Gladio is old. Shion's not sure how old but he's older than Ignis, much older than Shion. Older than Reno. If he hasn't had children there must be a reason and from that sad, wistful sigh it doesn't sound like it was a choice Gladio made lightly.]

[okay 33 is not that old, Shion, geez.

But he shrugs, looking a little sheepish.]

Well... yeah. I mean my little sister means the world to me. And I have my nephew but...

Things were too shitty back home to have kids. Especially when, odds were, I... wouldn't be around to raise them.

[Because he was likely to die. It was a sobering thought and Shion reached out for Gladio's hand, squeezing it tight.] I'm sorry. I... I don't know much about your world but I'm sorry it was awful.

[Most of the worlds Shion knew were awful.] Maybe... Maybe when we escape here, one day.

[On his own world or another.]

[Gladio squeezes back, amber eyes haunted for a moment... and then he pushes all of that down, expression softening to fondness as he reaches up, ruffling Shion's hair.]

Maybe some day, somewhere. But for now you lot keep me on my toes.

[Shion squeezed his hand again and smiled as his hair was ruffled.] You are a very caring person. [Not just for putting up with Shion but for looking after everyone, Shion knew he wasn't the only person who Gladio was teaching.]

[He shifts from the hand hold to reach around and give Shion a hug, just a quick one armed squeeze.]

Someone's gotta keep you kids in line.

[And gosh, maybe this will give Shion a little more insight into why Gladio calls so many of the teens 'kid'.]

[It does. It explains a lot. Shion returned the hug and smiled at him.] Explain the top to Ignis. Things are different here. He might wear it.
