CLOTHING ADVENTURES

Who: Anyone! Everyone!
What: Clothes were requested. Clothes are now granted.
When: morning of the 22nd initially
Where: meet me at the room that's literally filled to the brim with clothing in 15 minutes
Warnings: It's just clothes, what could possibly go wrong!
Notes: Everyone gets free clothes whether they participated in the actual request or not. CLOTHES FOR THE ENTIRE ISLAND.


There's a room in the Storyteller's temple; it was once empty, and now it's...not. It is, in fact, full of clothing of all sorts, to the point that it might be slightly difficult to find exactly what you're looking for.

Oh well. It's there now, no takebacks.

(Legion sees the Knight, and immediately goes over to them.)

Greetings.

[ They look up at the sound of Legion's voice (in time, they'll come to recognise that distinctive sound their friend makes when they walk), sort of...gesturing to the pile in what appears to be confusion.

They're not sure what to make of all this. They look ...well, for clarification, mostly. Does Legion know what the purpose of these things are? The Knight is a bit lost. ]

(Headtilt.)

You are unfamiliar with clothing?

[ They pick up a shirt, examining it. It's far too big for them, but they poke around in it regardless before laying it down carefully.

They shrug and nod in answer to Legion's question. Bugs don't need clothes. They don't even know what clothes are. ]

(They headtilt in the other direction, and their headflaps ripple briefly.)

They are used to cover organic platforms.

( ...They contemplate this new information, and then pick the shirt up again, draping it over themselves inexpertly. They're completely covered by it.

They turn to Legion, who is clearly able to see their head tilt even when a shirt with a galaxy-patterned picture of a unicorn is concealing them from view.

Is...is this how you do it??? ]

(They watch them, and let out a short burst of chatter.)

It is too large. Additionally, you are not wearing it correctly.

( Hmm. Hmmmm. Wearing it correctly? This is a puzzle. They can figure this out, they're sure.

...There's a bit of shuffling before they eventually poke their head through an arm hole. Now it looks even more ridiculous. They stare up at Legion, who seems to be their new go-to guide on How To Wear Clothes. ]

(More chattering.)

Your head goes through the large hole. The smaller openings are intended for your arms.

[ ...They fuss about with it a little more. Now they're wearing the shirt 'correctly' (which is to say, with their head poked through the hole intended for heads rather than limbs) but getting their arms through the 'smaller' holes is asking far too much of them. It drapes them like an overlarge sheet, comically oversized.

They peer down at themselves, attempting to discern the purpose of such a garment, and then wriggle out of it with ease. Then, they hold it up to Legion questioningly. Does Legion wear clothes? They seem to know a lot about it. ]

This unit has no need of clothing.

(So ...no. They're even more naked than the average bug: not even a cloak adorns them.)

( A cloak is so useful! It can be used as an impromptu shelter from the weather for a little while, or used to treat injuries temporarily, or protect the eyes (if it has a hood, and sometimes even if it doesn't)...

Are you prepared to be sold on the various advantages of cloaks? The Knight is going to do their ample best to try. They may not understand clothing, but a cloak is just practical. )

(They chatter.)

Clothing is unnecessary.

[ They hold up a hand and dive into the clothing pile, eventually pulling out a serviceable cloak that they judge to be about Legion's size. It's a dusty brown, and slightly worn.

They offer it to them, insistently. At least try it on!! ]

(After a moment of debate among their programs, they give in, take it from the Knight, and try it on.)

[ The Knight looks them over, clearly finding this arrangement to be satisfactory. They give them an approving nod, and then, feeling this isn't quite enough of a response for Legion following along with their whims: ]

[ NAILED IT. They retrieve one of the cloaks they'd pulled from the pile earlier, a small one that sparkles with pictures of stars, and puts it on themselves. See, now they both have new clothes. Fashionable! ]
