[ in the evening, hifumi sits near the campfire, craving warmth after coming down with a case of the chills. she's lightly scratching at her skin, her palms and shoulders and ears especially, while curled up under the blanket she was provided upon arrival. she's just...blankly gazing at the campfire for a while, not really feeling up for doing much else despite her stomach growling.

but she's not going to say no to company. it's more than welcome, actually. perhaps someone will join her; or after she rests for a bit, she'll stand and start seeking out the others in the group herself. she has with her a first aid kit that's got a couple of bandages, gauze, and a tube of antibiotic cream. ]

...How are you holding up?

[As Hifumi happens upon a familiar face at the campesite, it seems said person doesn't notice them yet. Pyrrha seemed rather preoccupied by something at the moment in her hand.

Whatever it is, Pyrrha quickly closes her hand and looks up at Hifumi, clearing her throat once. It doesn't hide the slight hoarseness of her throat.]

I'm doing fine, I think. I don't have any wounds.

[shogis]

[ whatever that was, hifumi doesn't ask. she feels awkward about prying into the business of someone she's only just met, and she frowns as she looks at pyrrha, letting out a few coughs before sitting closer to her. ]

I'm glad to hear it.

[ ... ] Thank you for coming on this expedition with us, Nikos-san. I appreciate all of your help.

Of course. I wouldn't miss the chance to learn a bit more about the island. [There's still so much to explore, some answers unfound.]

...And, how are you feeling? I know you haven't been here very long yet. I hope everything's been alright so far.

I'm doing okay. Thank you for asking.

[ yet, saying that sends her into another coughing fit. she needs a moment, and hifumi covers her mouth with both hands, turning away from pyrrha. ]

Excuse me. Ah... I suppose I only wish that this island were kinder to us.

[She inwardly flinches at the sight, reaching out without thinking about it to put a comforting hand on Hifumi's shoulder.]

I wish it was too. It's certainly been... strange. Of course, the first island I set foot on in this world was in the process of falling into the sea.

Have you been coughing like that for long?

That...sounds very dangerous.

[ she's surprised at the hand on her shoulder, but doesn't move to push it away. she appreciates it, actually, giving pyrrha a small (but forced) smile. ]

It's been a few days, now. I'm certainly hoping it's just a cold, and it doesn't escalate into anything further. Perhaps I shouldn't be sitting so close to you...

[Smell gestures of kindness like that were second habit to her.]

No, no it's alright. I think I'm coming down with something myself. [In fact, she'll clear her throat a little.] I'm assuming it has to do with all the pollen I've been breathing for a while. There's a lot of flowers around here.

[More than the edges of the island, that's for sure.]

[ pollen. hifumi won't rule it out as a possibility for why she's been feeling so ill, but she also has Doubts that this can just be boiled down to allergies. ]

I hope that's the case. [ she frowns, looking like she's contemplating something... and then she takes off her blanket. ]

Nikos-san, would you like to use my blanket?
