august 5-9.

[ In some ways, it feels familiar. She's not really thrilled about that; the fear of succumbing to something she can't control is terrifying. Something pricks at the back of her mind, flashes of an old memory clawing to the surface--

beneath the ground, surrounded by darkness and decay and the slow sound of something heavy growing closer

--she closes her eyes and shakes her head. Focuses on other things. She doesn't dare go back to Enso; she doesn't know if she'd infect others who, luckily, haven't been. Her food's running a bit low, but she's still got quite a bit. So. If she sees someone around, she'll come over with a smile. She's a little dizzy from walking so much, but she manages to not fall over. ]

Are you hungry?

[ ... of course, aside from trying to take care of people, she's... not doing much of that for herself. Often, she has to take a break to curl up somewhere quiet. Mira's started coughing up flower petals, and that? Seeing the blood-soaked violet petals?

It's terrifying. So much that she's not particularly aware of much else. ]

august 10-16.

[ It's getting much worse.

The flowers grow along her skin, bursting forth around her wrists and throat. She's in a lot of pain, and she doesn't really move from her spot near the mana pool on Umui. She can't move, exactly. Not without a lot of hurting. Still, she puts on a brave face, sits up (visibly wincing, naturally) if she notices someone coming along. ]

How are you doing?

[ It's a foolish question, but. It's fine. ]

[ The question gives her pause. Mira turns her head to cough into her shoulder, and it's enough to make her regret falling quiet. Because the more she coughs, the quieter she is, the easier it is to remember the flowers blooming within. ]

I'm not sure. When I returned-- [ Not "came here." Returned, because so many people know her, even if she has no recollection of it. The Storyteller, when she'd spoken to them, had told her it was the nature of her story... ] --she was in my cottage.

[Returned...He gets that, even though he came back with memories of this place. He just...didn't know that he had been gone to begin with.]

Oh...I mean, that's how Kaltenecker showed up. [He clears his throat, coughs, turns his head to spit out the petals that have filled his mouth.] Just here when I got back. Guess that's just how things work here.

[ She's quiet, for a while. ]

She knew me. She... seemed like she'd been waiting for me. But I've never had a cat like her before.

[thegoofball]

Huh...

[That's a little strange, definitely peculiar.]

I'm sure she's just happy to have you around, even if she knew you before or not.

... You're right.

[ She turns her head t cough, roughly and wetly, and the force if it makes her double over. The coughing lasts more than a few moments, this time, and by the time she's finished, her lips are red with blood. ]

I... I'm sorry.

Hey, hey.

[The blood is concerning, but even more so is...Mira.]

You don't need to be sorry for this. It's- It's okay.

[ It's not... at least, she can't bring herself to think it is. Right now, all she wants is to lay down and sleep until this whole thing is finished... ]

... Y-you're right. It'll be okay.

[ She reaches over to squeeze his hand. It hurts, but she's so tired and achey and she's always been more of a physical person than most people she knows. ]

We'll get through this, right?
