And yet, he is here, and he is... entertaining himself by making noise with a spoon against a cup and overturned bowl as if trying to play a rhythm of some kind. Yeah.]

(Being evasive? Yes. Because they don't really understand yet how to put "we need to be around people and crowds are comforting" in words even to themselves.)

That's why I came too. But then I got kind of bored myself after a while, so now I'm doing this.

(Drums is apparently too simple a word. Or just too specific, considering the number of instruments that involve hitting to make music.)
