'Cause the Dirt is Up to My Eyes
As of July 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to the new island of Umui.

Travelers will arrive on a mana pool situated on the C1 square. The thick crops of flowers spring freely across the lush, grassy landscape, clustered in dense knots. The variety behind these growths seems profoundly limited: it is as though each flower has only sprouted around others of its kind, mingling solely at the edges. A large building looms in the corner of the region, a twisting, unfurling mass of piping and a half-crumbled metallic shine.

Whatever lays inside, or beyond the island's limits, is for you to discover for yourself.

For Shouto and Gladio~ 10th July

[Considering the last two islands that had been drawn near Shion treaded onto this one with a great deal of wariness. Ore the Story Teller had promised. Shion had no doubts that they would find it, but also that the dangers would be considerable.

For an island of ore it did not look like anything that Shion could have imagined. The sheer amount of flowers is fascinating.

Shion knows that exploring on his own is dangerous and so was sticking close to the mana pool writing notes in his book about his first impressions of this new island.]

[Shion's not alone in finding the island to be completely different from their assumptions. When hearing the place was going to be filled to the brim with ore, he was expecting...Rocks. Maybe a mountain, or an elaborate cave system.

Not rust and flowers and eerie silence. It puts him on edge, after seeing Ziziphus, and when he sees Shion standing on his own taking notes, the familiarity of the scene gets him to stop.]

Are you heading out?

[Gladio hasn't been here for the arrival of a new island so he is more eager than most. He's also very used to being able to handle himself so he is grinning when he comes through the mana pool, Leopold on his heels. The tigerlily has a new addition made from the canvas that Gladio got a couple weeks back.

Gladio himself has a large basket with backpack straps woven into it and he's clearly raring to go. Seeing Shion lingering by the pool gets a laugh.]

Shion! What're ya sittin around for!? [C'moooooon stop being so cautious, nerd.]

[Shion sees Shouto and holds up a hand in greeting.] I was thinking of doing so...

[Gladio's arrival distracts him and makes him jump slightly.] Sorry I... I didn't think it was sensible to go off on my own.

[People usually tell him off for being too reckless. This is novel.]

It probably isn't. [He tilts his head towards the new arrival, unfamiliar with Gladio but he can agree with Shion that it's probably dangerous to go solo.

He seems to not be a stranger to Shion, at the very least, but what's more important is the tigerlily. With a little pack. He...he wants to pet it.]

You could get lost. [Which...considering how Gladio just startled you, Shouto is inclined to think that's the most likely thing to happen.]

I dunno, Shion, you can be sneaky when you need to. [A grin and then he turns to address the other man, offering his hand as he introduces himself.]

Name's Gladio. And you're right, it'd be easy to get lost until we have a bit more of an idea of what's out there. I'd suggest we stay within sight of the coast for now, yeah?

[Shion grins when Gladio speaks, like Gladio had just handed him a great gift. He tries to cover it by going over to pet Leopold.] Sorry Leo, Cobweb stayed at home today.

[He nodded at Shouto, agreeing with Gladio's words.] Sticking to the coast is probably smart but it will be good to have a bit of better idea of what's out there.

Shouto. [At least the two seem to know each other, which means he probably won't have to deal with a lot of awkward, fumbling conversation.

He can just do his own thing, and tag along with them for the time being. (He's also, privately, hoping there's not much out there. There's supposed to be things to help with building, but the quiet that's overwhelming even near the mana pool has him on edge.)]

Better to look on the edge before we get lost in the middle of the island. We don't even know how big it is yet.

[He caught that, Shion. Look he doesn't call you kid(do) because he thinks less of you, just because you're young. And he's used to teasing his baby sister with it.]

That's what I was thinking. [So nice you boys agree with him. Thankfully the little stretch they're going to you can probably see one coast from the other. Also, Shouto, if it helps at all Leopold will fix that quiet for you, he's a chatty kitty.]

So let's head up to the Northern coast? and then follow it down. I wanna get around that lab the others were talking about at least. see what else this place has to offer.

[He wants tires dammit.]

[Shion gives Leo a last pet, puts his notebook back in his rucksack and stands up with a grin.]

Alright, let's see what is here.

[Except far too many flowers and a whole load of silence. He begins walking in the direction of the coast.]
