'Cause the Dirt is Up to My Eyes
As of July 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to the new island of Umui.

Travelers will arrive on a mana pool situated on the C1 square. The thick crops of flowers spring freely across the lush, grassy landscape, clustered in dense knots. The variety behind these growths seems profoundly limited: it is as though each flower has only sprouted around others of its kind, mingling solely at the edges. A large building looms in the corner of the region, a twisting, unfurling mass of piping and a half-crumbled metallic shine.

Whatever lays inside, or beyond the island's limits, is for you to discover for yourself.

When the Knight looks up to them Chip looks back down with a hesitant smile--they aren't really used to having a friend around, not since Asriel left. It's...nice, but still kind of weird. Maybe from a more 'normal' adult being babysat like this would feel more embarrassing, but with how small and different Knight is it doesn't register quite so much.

The surroundings are for the most part exactly as boring as the rest of the island, nothing but flowers and more flowers, but Chip is fair well determined to find something of use out here. Chip stops for a moment to shift their backpack on their shoulders (that book is heavy!), and pauses when they see...something? It was just a glimpse, too quick to tell, but it wasn't flowers and that's the important part.

"Is there something over there?" they ask, pointing to a tangle of yarrow wavering in the breeze. "I thought I saw something..."

It's practicality, but there's sentimentality to it, too. It's nice to go with others to explore, when you can. The Knight enjoys such things, having kept their own company for many, many years. Most people they met were just passing by, and the road was often long and lonely.

Enso is full of life, and full of interesting new people. They intend to strengthen their bonds, where they can.

The Knight bounds forward to investigate where Chip is pointing, finding something half-buried in the earth and tangled with flowers. They dig busily, working with a will, using their sword where appropriate to cut through.

After a few moments, they're beginning to unearth...some kind of shell? (It's a miner's cap, not that they realise this yet.) It's clearly made for someone much bigger; they could probably fit their whole body into it.

Oh well. They keep digging. Chip might know what it is.

Chip hurries along beside the Knight, hardly intending to let them do all the hard work themself. They kneel down to help tear away the obscuring stems and leaves, and soon they're scooping away dirt handfuls at a time. The yellow plastic only has them frowning in confusion, but then the light fixture comes into view they shout in excitement.

"A miner hat!" They dig with an invigorated energy, and as soon as the lip of the cap is exposed Chip grabs onto it and attempts to haul the whole thing out of the ground. That...might not work so well with so much still underground, but patience is not their strong suit.

The sudden movement and Chip's pulling startles the Knight, and it sends them tumbling backwards in surprise. It is, however, not enough to get them out of accidental scooping range, so while Chip yanks the hat free with success, it also brings their small friend with it. Who...is...currently hanging half-out of the cap, clearly puzzled with this turn of events.

They tilt their head in confusion, trying to flip the right way up to get a look at this strange new thing, but if Chip doesn't correct them they might just fall out of the hat altogether.

Chip yelps when they realize what's happened and quickly reach to catch the Knight--they're small and light enough that Chip at least keeps them steady. Still, it could have been worse and they're terribly aware of that; would the Knight's limbs pop off just as easily as a normal bugs would have? Did they nearly just kill their little friend?

"S-sorry, I didn't--I was just--" Chip flushes a bright red underneath their dark skin, head ducking down with shame. "I just...got excited..."

If they'd known what Chip was thinking right then, they would have simply reassured them. Blade and claw and fang, fire and seething light, have torn them asunder and left their body unmarked and unmarred. They're not that easy to kill; they know the exact limits of their own existence.

They...do tilt their head, confused as to why Chip seems so ashamed; it's a stark contrast to their excitement of before. They don't understand what has changed, for them to be ashamed of.

But here is someone in need of comfort. They balance carefully on Chip's arm rather than hop down from their hand, one small hand gripping tightly to their friend's shoulder as they reach out to their still-ducked head.

They give Chip a soft pat. There, there. It's okay. It's okay. Any imagined transgressions are solidly forgiven, whatever they happen to be.

Chip looks up in surprise, not expecting such immediate and gentle comfort. They blink for a few moments before their dumbfounded expression melts into an embarrassed smile and they set Knight back down onto the ground.

"You...you're not hurt, right?" Making sure of that is more important than checking out their prize.
