Floating Islet: And Sugar, We're Going Down Swinging
While new arrivals may generally be expected at this time of the month, one factor that has continuously failed to maintain consistency is their point of arrival. And indeed, it appears that this month has once again exceeded even the Storyteller's expectations as to where arrivals may take their first steps on this world.

In fact, that sensation would be the island itself, starting to sink out of the sky.
So that's nice.
On a crash course for the ground at F6, the Storyteller will eventually slow the island's progress to the ground below, though a rather profound impact is, simply put, inevitable. Characters with the ability of flight will find the island skimming low enough to reach on their own. Others may wish to utilize their resourcefulness to find an alternate means down.
Or, perhaps, you'll simply deal with whatever awaits you at the crash site.
F6 and Beyond: In An Earlier Round
Thankfully, the Storyteller's intervention will ensure that no one still on the not-so-floating island upon impact will escape with minor injuries at worst, the island itself crumbling to pieces and taking down more than a few thick trees. The pieces of the island will very quickly begin to blacken, crumbling underfoot as the floating island turns to dust. Anyone still aboard may wish to make a very quick departure.
The ripples of this impact, however, are far more significant than two pieces of land bumping up against one another.

[ ♆ ] Some may find their weapons are... behaving oddly, though all are still functional. Weapons, in this instance, may also include fisticuffs, if the intent is to use your fists as a weapon.Though many of these may be hindering or even dangerous in the right situations, they are, for the most part, passive. The Storyteller will assure anyone who asks that these oddities will disappear in the next few days.
[ ♆ ] Equally as irritating are those who find themselves coming down with a severe case of NPCitus: periods of time in which they find themselves incapable of saying more than one or two lines of the same, repetitive dialogue.
[ ♆ ] Equal parts nostalgic and irritating for some are the instances of lag (walking forwards, only to find oneself back where they started), Swimmer's Ear (incapable of movement unless swimming through the air), and clipping (suddenly stuck halfway through the nearest rock are all common, regrettable side-effects).
[ ♆ ] Other unfortunate side-effects may also transpire, as varied and wild as one's imagination.
You are free to create or utilize glitches you are particularly fond of, though keep in mind that any potential content warnings should be mentioned in your toplevel! You may peruse some of the past glitches here, or create your own along those lines! And a special thanks to our local Donn-mun, Jake (

All new arrivals will awake with knapsacks, their names stitched to the front. The contents of said knapsacks can all be found in your acceptance notices!
As a final note to those who participated in the Test Drive Meme, bear in mind that those threads, if all parties involved would like, can be game canon in the form of dream-like memories involving a place very much like this one, though the layout is considerably different.
Feeling a tad adrift? Make sure to check the Locations Page, which has details regarding the starting areas and a handy map for those who feel better with a bird's eye view!
( CODED BY BOOTYCALL )
The Hunter | Bloodborne | OTA
[The sounds of battle fade, the screams of the wizened child growing quieter and quieter until there was...
Nothing.
And nothing. Then he's awake.
And something. Then he's dreaming.
The air in this place is clear and fresh, no longer the rotten stink of fish guts, gore and rot - bar the stench clinging to his body and clothing, the Hunter supposes but he's used to it. A beautiful blue sky. No Orphan. No corpses. No nothing.
Nothing but the grass under his hands.
For a moment the Hunter is still and takes the place in. Breathes. He's dreaming. Another dream within the wakefulness, no moon to tell him which was which. A bag with The Hunter stitched onto it and that meant it was his so he pulled it closer. He remembered the other dream with the white rabbit who called themselves the Storyteller, a god.
Different god or a different kind of god?
But he's up the second the island starts to fall. The Hunter can run for a fairly long time so he runs to try and find the center of the island. This place will crash down and the center may be the best place to endure the impact.
And if not, that's just another death. It's fine.]
2 - Gotta love them hitbox issues
[It's inevitable that the Hunter would find some creatures that wanted to kill him. Different place, same problems. If anyone wanted to find the Hunter, it's easy. All they have to do is follow the sound of battle and gunfire.
The Saw Cleaver is an effective, if brutal weapon and tearing these creatures apart isn't hard, per say. The problem is that there's a lot of the Centipuppies and he's never been good at group fights. Not to mention there's something...wrong here.
The Hunter swings his blade down and a Centipuppy scuttles out of the way to dodge the hit, yet an arc of blood still spurts out from the creature's body as if he was successful in his strike. It's the same if the Hunter is hit as well. It's almost as if everyone in this fight is bigger somehow.
Or it's just the usual shenanigans.]
Wildcard
[Got something else in mind? Hit me up!]
1
Their path crosses the Hunter's as he runs to the center, and they wonder what he's in such a rush for, so they just...follow him, because what is fall damage and he seems too busy for greetings right now. Enjoy your strange new shadow, Hunter, that's not unsettling at all. ]

But he has not forgotten to watch his six while he's looking around. The Knight can shadow for a bit but they're not going to escape notice for long because the Hunter will eventually turn around to stare down at the creature.
They're...strange. He's never seen a monster like this before, something tiny that - going by appearance alone - did not seem dangerous. But the Hunter's learned better. So while he doesn't attack if the Knight is the observant sort, they'll notice that his grip on the Saw Cleaver has tightened and his finger has not left the trigger of the Hunter's Blunderbuss. He's obviously expecting a fight.
The Knight has a little bit to explain what they are, however. That much he can offer.
For now.]

In response, they raise their hands (or nubs, it's hard to make out fingers from a distance), showing they're devoid of weaponry. They tilt their head, wondering if this person knows how to speak with their hands.
Perhaps, perhaps not. They stand still, evaluating, tilting their head curiously to meet that stare with a blank one of their own. It's good to let the other person engage, to appear non-threatening, especially with their lack of communication options. ]

But the creature can, apparently, understand the aggression pouring off of the Hunter enough to hold their hands up in a sign of peace. For a moment he wonders if they're like the creature in Oedon Chapel.
When the Hunter speaks, his voice cracks and he has to clear his throat before trying again. His next attempt is much slower, as if he hasn't spoken in a long time.]
...what are you?
no subject
They draw their little sword (it gleams in the light) and scratch busily in the dirt with it. ]
a vessel .
no name .
who are you ?
[ Asking 'what are you' seems a little weird. People are people, that's all the Knight knows. Some are bugs, but the ones that aren't bugs are no less people than the bugs are. ]
no subject
A vessel. No name. Hum...
The Hunter watches the Knight for a moment before kneeling down himself. If he doesn't have to talk he'll take it but there's still the dilemma of freeing a hand to answer the tiny bug's question. Eventually the Hunter settles on placing the gun on the ground for the moment while keeping the Saw Cleave. He wasn't the best with his gun so this way will keep a weapon he knew better at hand and one hand free to answer.
His handwriting isn't the neatest but it's still readable.]
a hunter
where is this
[Probably the better question to ask here, since he's taking the 'a vessel' comment as it is. There's no moon here so he can't tell if it's really a dream or not.]
no subject
This stranger must be like Frisk, then; able but not willing to speak. Well, everyone has their own reasons. ]
nice to meet you
island below is 'enso'
this island no name
used to fly
[ It obviously isn't now, and they're not sure why that is, but at least it's falling pretty slowly.
...Another question, though. ]
can speak with hands ?
[ They make several hand signs to demonstrate what they mean, holding their hands up as high as they can and making the movements as clearly as possible, and tilt their head curiously. ]
no subject
And this island in particular has no name and used to fly. Curious that it's dropping now but no one here is going to die from the impact at least. And to answer the Knight's question...the Hunter still writes on the ground.]
a little
[He does demonstrate however, but it's very basic stuff and some of it is wrong to begin with. The Hunter learned prior to coming to Yharnam but not thoroughly.
It became a bit handy later because the Hunter slowly started to...have personal issues with his voice. But he'll leave it at that and instead writes on the ground again.]
more people here
[A lot of people, by the looks of things.]
