[Hello, Shepard. They remember you, though not very well; human faces still have that quality of sameness to them, unless there's something they can consider unique enough to set them apart. Such is the case with most of the children present, for example: most of them are a good deal smaller than average.]

[They tap the ball with one foot and send it rolling over in Shepard's direction.]

[She catches the ball with her foot and kicks it up a bit into her hands.]

A little, yes. I’m no pro, but I’ve played soccer before.

[The Drifter tilts their head to one side, appraising. If she does play, she should know that one doesn't use their hands...though they've not begun their game just yet, meaning that it's possible she merely sees fit to demonstrate what she knows.]

That sounds good to me.

[She drops the ball to the ground, looking around for anything to use to make goal posts.]

Any ideas for the goals?

[The Drifter doesn't have to look for long. The grass is peppered with sticks of all sorts, and eventually they retrieve four of adequate length and jam them into the ground, a fair distance away from each other: two on one end and two on the other.]

[Shepard watches as they set up the goals and as they move she takes the moment to look out over Ziziphus in full. This island truly is beautiful. A place full of bliss. It's only a matter of time until this island disappears into the mists and mysteries surrounding Enso and the islets but for now, it's a welcome respite from the usual danger that plagues them all.]

All right. Let's do this.

[She gives the ball a kick towards the middle ground between the goals. She picks a goal to her left, moving to stand in front of it.]

On the count of ten we'll both go for the ball. That sound good?

[Oh, it is on. The Dirfter bobs their head in a nod, and their companion projects a numerical ticker that starts counting down promptly:]

[They tense beneath their cloak, gearing up for the inevitable charge.]

[And they sprint for the ball at a dead charge, a streak of chain-dashed violet energy.]

[It is so ON! As the countdown goes, Shepard tenses, watching the ball intently as the moment of movement rapidly approaches. When they get to 1 she throws herself into a Charge, blue and white energy swirling around her as she goes for it.

Perhaps she's a bit rusty or perhaps Drifter is just a bit faster than her. Either way they get to the ball before her and she swerves off to the side to avoid colliding into the poor fellow. She curses as they take the lead and twists around to run back to protect her goal post.]

[She, too, can dash, it seems, though it is not the same sort to which they are accustomed.]

[The Drifter is fast, catching the ball between their feet and tapping it from side to side, weaving and dodging in an effort to kick it for the goal. Or, in their effort, simply swing the flat of their blade and send the ball sailing toward the goal.]
