Those curious floating landmasses far above Ensō have only grown more prominent in the coming days. Whether you've chosen to explore the islands purposefully or have ended up there via a mana pool malfunction, you'll doubtless discover their unique properties soon enough. You might even take advantage of their impressionable nature to mold them to your own desires, shaping pieces of the places you once knew, or maybe a place you wish you could be.
Either way, the repercussions to using the floating islands as your modeling clay will be evident by the time midnight rolls around, each night, and the islands impose a regular reset cycle to wipe away whatever changes have taken place, including that peculiar, almost volcanic texture that seems to affect the lands sculpted by your mentality. Just make sure you're not caught outside the depressions in the shape of mana pools centered on each island, lest you bear some unpleasant consequences for a day.
If you haven't signed up for a Reset Penalty and wish to, you can still do so here!

But of course, it's not all doom and gloom. It's quite the opposite, in fact. If there's something you've been wanting, simple or complex, something that has been making its way into the texture of your thoughts with a frequency that's almost noteworthy, the islands will attempt to see to it that this wish of yours, this yearning, is satisfied in some way or another. Some of the effects will be temporary. Some won't.
Regardless, at some point during the event, if your character visits the islands, the possibility is there.
If you're interested in a Wish Request, let us know here! Remember that filling out this form is required if you want to take advantage of the islands' "giving" nature.

17th for temporary cure pals?!
Eh? Ah, so more people are appearing as the days go on! I nearly ran into you...
[But hold on, his quick attempt to shield his ego had him momentarily distracted. Now that he's looking closely, he sees that scar, but more importantly, he sees the look on Ignis' face, and the way he's reacting. Pain?]
...Are you alright?
Yes! Temporary cure pals! \o/
With a smile replacing his formerly pained expression, Ignis looks up at the young man addressing him. His face isn't familiar, but that doesn't mean much. Most of the new friends Ignis has made here, he's never actually seen.]
Please accept my apologies. I didn't mean to worry or startle you. It's just been a while since I could see anything. Everything's quite a bit brighter than I remember.
[Is that...a joke? Sure sounds like it.]
no subject
Ah, can it be? Is it true that you were unable to see until now? How exciting... I had thought I might be the only one who was able to gain something positive from these islands. Just like that, my illness was gone, and I can take deep breaths without coughing~.
Is it like that? Is the world so bright and beautiful that you can't remember how to take it in? [He gets on his tip-toes, holding his hands out like he's making personalized umbrellas for Ignis' eyes.]
From the shade, please take it in and enjoy it thoroughly, these healthy new starts of ours. ♪
no subject
Yes, I lost my vision in battle a short time before I was brought here. I've been here for several months now, so I'm afraid I've started to forget a great many things about the seeing world.
[He hates to admit how easily some things have faded, but with how much they have to fight just to survive here, he hasn't had the time to keep refreshing those visual memories. It's something he will have to make sure he corrects.
Wandering eyes turn toward Eichi and Ignis smiles.]
You have my thanks, my courteous young friend. My name's Ignis. What's yours?
no subject
[He's seriously so glad, he thought it was just him, but more than one person can experience this joy? He can't control his happiness. He places a hand over his chest, giving a little bow.]
Eichi. Fufu, for how long I've been able to live with my doctors telling me my days were limited, I don't feel very young at all. That being said, I am in the heart of my youth... [18 almost 19 is probably the heart of youth, right? He's going to take that as a yes and pull as many pranks as he wants.]
...so I intend to enjoy it. ♪ This has given me a new chance. Beyond that, with just thoughts and memories, I can wave my hand and construct places from home~. What an exciting power this is, I can't stop! Why not try it for yourself?
no subject
[Even if Noctis' life hadn't really been in danger, Ignis had thought it to be at the time. That's really all that matters, isn't it?]
Age is merely a number. Most people are very surprised when they find out how old I am. It's quite amusing actually.
[A curious expression fills Ignis' eyes when Eichi mentions this new 'power.' While he wouldn't mind seeing home again, Ignis really isn't sure where he could currently see without it hurting deep in his soul. Certainly not Altissia. Not Insomnia either. Those dusty back roads they spent so much time on? Lestallum perhaps?
No. All of them have horrible memories tied to them. Memories, he really doesn't want to think about right now.]
Ah, but I know well what my home looks like. Will you show me yours?
no subject
In the end, you were able to have your cake and eat it too. I wonder what fate must think of that? As we enjoy our new freedom from cruel fate, I'll gladly show you somewhere that I'm quite used to, but in exchange, tell me your age, okay?
[Playfully he says that. How could he not be curious? Anyway, he'll begin at once, closing his eyes to focus.
It's slow, but pieces of the room he's thinking of begin to show up. A grand window, and an important looking table and chair to match, the room seems to be an office of some kind. There's bookshelves to one side and a chalkboard to the other, other tables and chairs lined up along the side for visitors.
Opening his eyes during this process, Eichi moves slowly over to the chair in the center, wasting no time in sitting down.]
This isn't my mansion or anything like that, but I feel this is closer to "home" than anything else I could show you. Have a seat, if you'd like. I wonder if I could recall some tea to existence, as well...? [He wishes, god]
no subject
[It may be a little morbid and maybe the joke is lame, but Ignis just happens to be a fan of such humor, much to most of his friends' dismay. Why, he hasn't really had a chance to trade bad humor with anyone such Sans left several months ago. Such a shame.]
Oh, are you certain you don't want to try guessing first?
[Ignis laughs and then pulls himself to his feet, brushing dust off his pants as he does.]
I'm 22 years old. Actually, I suppose that is only half true. I was 22 when I came here, but if you count time I've spent on the islands, I'm now 23. My birthday was at the beginning of the month.
[It's something he should think about at some point, how time passes and nothing seems to change with them, but it's a question for later. Instead, he focuses on the room that appears around them. It's the bookshelves that catch his attention at first. So many books, it's almost like being back in his own apartment, though the room's grandness is something much more like that sitting rooms in the palace than his small apartment.
Ignis takes a glance toward the large window and then pulls out a chair to sit.]
If you find Muffet once we all get down from here, she may be able to help you with the tea. I'm afraid all I have in my possession is coffee.
no subject
[The bad jokes have arrived again, but if anyone calls them lame to Eichi his smile might create a crater in the earth. Good thing Ignis appreciates them! He chuckles, again, using a hand to measure his own height to Ignis' in comparison. 4cm shorter than Ignis... Well, that's fair, if he's older.] I can see how you might be that age. You have the sturdy, strong body of someone old and wise, but the face of someone young and beautiful. Fufu, I can only imagine how many have guessed incorrectly.
[Ah, but then tea is mentioned, and he actually looks surprised.] Ah, someone has tea here, really? I haven't tried much coffee, to be honest... I suppose as president of the tea club, I thought it might be a betrayal of sorts.
I'll have to search out this "Muffet" and see if she may be willing to share. ♪
no subject
As I said, age is just a number. I would only wish for eternal youth if it allowed me to better serve my charge. If we are to seriously talk of visions, it would be his happiness I wish to see above all else.
[Ah, but he's moving toward melancholy topics and it's not right of him to drift into those when he should be celebrating this gift. Fortunately, Eichi's slew of compliments is more than enough to distract him.
He...might even be blushing slightly as he clears his throat.]
I don't know about all that, though I've spent most of my life trying to seem older than I am. I've been in my position since I was quite young, and it's hard to get people who are old enough to be your grandparents to take you seriously in many arenas.
[Ignis is sure Muffet will be happy to speak of him about tea for as long as he wants whether she actually has any or not. It's just a shame that Ignis has never actually seen her and has no way to warn Eichi that she is actually a giant--though very friendly--spider.]
Ask my friends and they would happily tell you that my blood was likely replaced with coffee at some point. I'm afraid it's one of the few vices I allowed myself back home.
no subject
He covers his mouth for his soft laughter.]
I believe I can understand. As scion to the Tenshouin family, I've always had to go to important parties and speak to business men who were older than me. Between that and the deaths that run in my family from that illness of ours, I was forced to grow up immediately and had no time for a childhood.
I believe now is as good of a time as any to enjoy some of our youth, Ignis-kun. Even you still have that, you know? [Sip some coffee! Run around and make beautiful places! He stands up from his grand desk, walking past the man to start creating things at the single open wall— a garden of some sort.]
*Looks up Keito* Well, heck folks. They ARE a lot alike! LOL
The only thing worse than council meetings are the balls, though they are close companions when the long-winded start speaking.
[There is a moment of silence when Ignis debates asking his question and then pushes on.]
If it's not too forward of me, can I ask how young you were when you took up the burdens of an adult? I was six.
[Question asked, Ignis wastes no time following Eichi into the garden. It's beautiful and for a moment, he feels a pain of homesickness for a home that no longer exists. He runs his fingers gently over the petals of a familiar seeming flower, speaking so softly it's almost as if he doesn't realize he's speaking aloud.]
Not quite the same as the palace's gardens, but beautiful nonetheless.
HAHAHA now you see idol-noct eichi is without his idol-ignis?? he's going to die
[He turns to smile at Ignis admiring the gardens. A palace's gardens— he'd like to see something like that, but it had seemed as though Ignis wasn't so eager to share his own world, so he'll refrain from asking.]
Death is something that's existed for me since I was born. You see, aside from my grandfather, who was like a demon in how long he managed to live, death was a regular occurrence in my family. I was introduced to my childhood friend as the boy that would be responsible for my funeral, and we would often spend our days imagining what sort of funeral it might be.
[Nothing says childhood like talking about how you'll die and your friend will deal with the arrangements so you don't have to worry!! Well, their families just have that connection. Every member of the Hasumi family would take care of the funerals of the Tenshouins.] As far as meetings, parties and the like... it wasn't until I was able to speak and learned my etiquette that it truly began. Perhaps around the same age as you.
[He can't remember.] I was a troublesome child, playing pranks and trying to avoid my duties. There was once a time that I painted every rose in the garden blue. ♪ Fufu, thinking back on that, I'm sure Ignis-kun was much more of an "adult" than I ever was. I was a spoiled brat.
I'm going to die, you mean! My heart!
His attention turns back to Eichi when he mentions the role his childhood friend played for him. There is a look of horror in his eyes. They know now, of course, that Noctis was always fated to die young. Even if it hadn't been because of his role as Chosen King, the Crystal would have pulled the life from his very body just as it had done to King Regis. Even so--even in a kingdom build around death, a kingdom that didn't fear death--Noctis had been shielded from as much as he possibly could have been. He had been gifted normalcy by his father. That gift was, perhaps, the greatest one Regis could have ever given him.]
I was suppose to protect and guide my charge. I don't understand. Why would they give you a guide only to have you focus on such things? Wouldn't it have been better for you to think of life and leave the matters of death rest until the time came?
[Even with this different focus and the horror the idea brings to Ignis' mind, he can't help but smile as Eichi continues. Are spoiled brats the same in all universes?]
My charge once did something similar only it wasn't roses he painted but royal portraits. He felt the need to add his own personal touch to one of those than hung in the halls. It took me quite some time to fix that personal touch, but to this day no one knows it happened aside from the two of us.
WE SUFFER TOGETHER
[Ah, his heart is hurting now thinking about this, even though he's healthy now? How unfortunate. For memory's sake, he touches at one of the rose bushes, transforming them all into blue-painted roses with a chuckle.]
I was a hassle, so the staff left me in Keito's hands, asking him to look after me in every way. From that, we were able to discuss more than just funerals, and we became friends. It's just that we were forced to grow up and enter the real world, and somehow he felt that he should abandon his own dreams and follow me, instead. What a burden I am.
[Hmm, he'll pluck a blue rose and offer it to Ignis. Take it in, the "impossible flower" before breeding advanced.] What exciting stories you must have with that charge of yours. I'd be eager to hear them... Is he here, as well?
*sobs*
Don't ever say that! You're not a burden to anyone. People like your friend and me...
[Granted, he doesn't know a lot of Eichi's friend, but he has a feeling they would have a lot in common were they ever to meet.]
...we give up things willingly for those we care about. It may have started as duty for both of us, but its grown far beyond that. It doesn't matter if our charges are a 'hassle' or a 'spoiled brat.' They are our lives and we are happy with that, despite any moments of frustration that may come along with it.
[Having said his piece, Ignis gently pulls the flower back into his hands, finally giving it the attention it deserves. It's a beautiful color. A little darker and it would remind him of Noctis' eyes.]
He is here, thank the Astrals. For all that happens here, I would prefer him with me than having to face his fate back home.
[Noctis may have accepted his impending death, but Ignis and Prompto are still not ready to give up on the chance there may be a way to stop that death from happening.]
no subject
If I can stay as I am now, able to breathe without even a hint of pain and a heart that beats normally... then I believe it would be easier for everyone. [He wouldn't be a burden.
Still, he's not so sure he should rely on it. This feels too much to be real. He still isn't sure if he's actually just died.]
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that he is. If possible, I'd very much like to meet him. I'm not sure what "fate" has in store for him, but if it's something undesirable... then I hope that you can both stay here and enjoy time just as you'd like it, instead.
no subject
[Ignis closes the few steps between them, and if allowed, will carefully tuck the rose behind Eichi's ear.]
Without the challenges we face and the prices we pay, we wouldn't be who we are now. These things guide and teach us until we find the best of what lies within our souls. The process is oft a painful one, but that is why it is easier when we have people around us to support us through those times.
[Hands now empty, Ignis doesn't seem quite sure what to do with them before settling on grasping his right wrist with his left hand and letting them rest loosely in front of him.]
His fate is far too similar to your own. He's not ill, but he will die long before his time. I don't think it's right for us to stay here longer than we must. A whole world relies on us to save it, but for now, I am happy for every day he can spend fishing instead of carrying a weight far too heavy for such young shoulders.
