(no subject)

Who: Noctis and You
What: Noctis took a really long nap, again. He’s catching up with everyone and everything. His blissfully unaware of the memory event and anything anyone did or saw about him. Ruin that blissfulness if need be.
When: Anytime between 12/30 and 01/02
Where: Islets, Enso, wildcard
Warnings: TBA - Some brooding, maybe booze induced brooding.

[Islet - Awakening]

It was like any other morning on the islets for Noctis. He was blissfully unaware that he had been gone for nearly two weeks, once again. Sure he was groggy but, that wasn’t new for him. As far as he last remembered, he had been on Monsun, at the camp grounds, not on the islets.

Maybe he passed out and someone carried him? Wouldn’t be too weird, right?

He stepped out of the cottage, one arm stretching and one rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “What time is it?” he asked, half expecting his friends to just be there.

[Islet - Oh Hey Friends]

Completely aware now that Epic Nap Time Chapter 2 occurred, Noctis sets off to check up on his friends that don’t live with him. However, to his dismay, his closest and first stop has come up empty. Terra was gone. Hopefully, wherever she was whisked away to, ended up for the better. Hopefully, she would gain her memory back. Still, her companionship was a breath of fresh air - dependable in this world. Noctis couldn’t help but feel a tightness in his chest, knowing she wasn’t there anymore.

He’d deal. He’d have to. There were other people here that depended on him. His friends from home, his fiancé, and just the islands in general he felt. He had to admit, not having anyone know he was royalty from where he was from was nice. He was just like everyone else here, trying to make it - depending on their little community to survive.

It was a bit less stressful than the fate of the entire world on your shoulders.

[Enso/ Temple Ruins | 01/02 Late Afternoon | Let’s Drink ]

Sometimes a boy’s got to sit somewhere quiet and brood a bit. Noctis didn’t want to risk going to Monsun or the new island. He was familiar with Enso the most, and figured if he got into any trouble, he’d be able to get out of there quickly without much help. There’s a good chance that by this time Noctis figured out at least some people know a bit more about him through his friends’ memories. He’s none too thrilled about the idea either.

He didn’t need or want to be seen as anything other just another guy on the island in the same situation the rest of them were in. He’d have to take how he approached people on a case by case basis now. Not that he was keen on approaching people to begin with if he didn’t have. Now, however, he was going to approach this little “gift” that the Storyteller left him.

Popping the cap, he gave the liquid a good whiff. Could he trust it? He hadn’t had a drink since leaving Insomnia. (And then it was dinner wine for the most part.) Plus, he was still very skeptical about the intentions of the world’s deity. Maybe experiencing this alone wasn’t a great idea. . . .

Considering how many favors Ignis threw into helping create the camp on Monsun, it's not surprising he has spent most of his time since its creation there. His organizational and planning skills are worth their weight in gil, though even busying himself with those things hasn't pushed a particular worry from his mind. At first, he brushed Noctis' absence from the camp off as not too unusual. People had been dropped all over the island, and if Noct was dropped at a far point from the camp, it would take him some time to join them. However, as more time passes and with Nyx's departure still fresh in his mind, Ignis very quickly gets to the point where just asking for word on his prince isn't enough to keep him from wandering. Fortunately, the nearby mana pool makes that wandering much easier.

He masks the true reasoning for his wandering under the guise of other things. His trips are not search missions, but merely to check on his garden and bludrocs. Those who know him surely see though the excuses easily, but with all that the recent storytelling revealed, he would rather not draw anymore attention to Noctis' position and importance to them than necessary.

It is perhaps a reward for his efforts--or maybe just plan luck--that Ignis is not far from their run down little home when Noctis calls out. He freezes in his tracks, hand tightening around the cane he's been practicing using since Ardyn gifted it to him a few days before.

"Noct?"

It is a nice cane, one covered in markings that Noctis might recognize from the walls of Steyliff Grove. If he does remember them, it might also give him a pretty good idea of who made the cane.

...

Yeah, Ignis is still wrapping his head around that too.

"Over at the camp on Monsun. That's where most of us have been for quite some time. It's you I've been worried about. Where have you been? Prompto's dying to show you the chocobo egg the Storyteller gave him."

"By my best guess a couple of weeks, but since you never made it to the camp as far as I know, it's hard to say exactly when you vanished. What's the last thing you remember?" Ignis flexes his fingers around the cane, fighting back the voice in his head that says he really should have gone looking for Noctis sooner even if the search would have gotten him nowhere. The powers that be return them only when they feel the time is right.

"I will be happy to fill you in on all you've missed and what we're preparing for, naturally. I just need to know where to begin."

He pauses then, a bit of the professionalism fading, "It's good to see you again. I've missed you."
