[ When she's aware of where she is--again--she blinks a few times. Takes a look around. She could've sworn she'd just been--investigation: monsun, the camp
elsewhere. It feels incredible that she had forgotten about this place, but... she'd gone home. She'd gone home for a long time, actually. Two years. She's been away from two years, and with that realization, she's a little worried. It's not possible that everyone she's met (Karin and Luna and Ignis, especially) should be here, still... Certainly, their stories have ended by now?
Yet, she finds herself going back to the islets. If Karin is here, she must be incredibly worried, or maybe she's forgotten Mira entirely. She wouldn't quite be surprised, really. It's not that she wants Karin to forget her (it hurts, actually, a deep ache she tries really hard to ignore) it's just that she doesn't want to be disappointed. So she lingers around a few of the other islets, before ultimately going to their little cottage. For a moment, she hesitates... and then knocks. ]
[ And after that, after she knows what's up, she goes to the other island. Three days. Has it really been three days? She's different, she looks older, a little harder. Certainly the sword at her hip is new, and she feels like an entirely different person. The other island is likely still here, and she's not entirely sure why she's going.wildcard
But here she is. She uses the mana pool to travel to the smaller one at the camp, and when she arrives, she takes a look around. Mira takes a breath, feels the heat on her face and skin, and something in her seems to relax just a little. ]
It's still the same.
[ Consistency is nice. ]
[ Feel free to make up a starter, or contact me for one, either through PM on this journal or atsweetstacks. ]

Sometimes, they don't come back at all.
Of course, it's that last possibility that worries Ignis the most. Especially since Nyx's name is the most recent on the list of people he knows it to have happened to.
It's a relief then, when he hears her voice near camp, even if it sounds a little different than he remembers. He can't see the changes in her, but he can hear them even from such a short statement.]
Mira? Darling? Are you all right?

So when she comes back, she's in a different part of the camp. It's all so familiar, constant, where she isn't. She'd been younger when she first arrived, and now it feels like an eternity ago. She's changed, but some things don't. Like the way Ignis addresses her. That, too, is familiar in the best way, and Mira tries not to rush the man when she goes to join him. ]
I'm... [ fine, she almost says, but the lie dies on her lips. For a moment, she bites her lip, letting the silence hang between them like a heavy curtain. ] Well... not particularly. But I am thankful you're still here.

[A few days that had left both he and Karin fretting about her.
Ignis takes a step toward her and holds out a comforting hand, inviting either touch or hug as she so wishes.]
It sounds as if it has been so much longer for you. You seem...different. What happened, dear one?
[He can't see the change, but he can feel it. Hear it, and he worries what it means for her.]

[ She winces a little, crosses one arm over her stomach to grasp at the other. But the moment he extends his hand... she drops her defensive pose. And she reaches out to him. Her hand rests in his for a moment before she closes the distance and hugs him. ]
Too much happened. It's... been two years for me, after all.
[ It's a comfort, talking with him. In the back of her mind, Mae's voice echoes, It's too much for any one person to bear.
She holds on, a little tighter. ]

Oh my darling, I can't even being to imagine how disorienting this must be.
[He holds her for a moment longer before pulling away just enough to move them both back in the direction of his little corner of the tent.]
Have you eaten since you got back? Come, sit and talk to me. Talk about whatever you need to. I will listen.
