November Adventure: The Good, The Bad, And The Dirty
NEW ISLAND: MONSUN
Who: Everyone!
What: Monsun appears, and a new adventure begins.
When: November 24th
Where: Across the islands!
Warnings: Tag as you go!

What: Monsun appears, and a new adventure begins.
When: November 24th
Where: Across the islands!
Warnings: Tag as you go!

I've Never Been Better- Or Worse
As per the Storyteller's advice, the morning of the 24th will find characters waking to the sight of land in the far distance; Monsun is now accessible for one-way travel. Your mission, should you choose to volunteer for it? Traverse to this new land, and locate the mana pool. All characters will be reminded on departure that they may not be capable of returning until they have, so pack wisely.
The land of Monsun, even from a distance, may strike travelers as a peculiar one. One half appears to be made up of lush, deciduous woodland entirely at odds with the coastal, tropical aesthetic that Ensō so boasts. The other half appears to be dry and bare, full of cracking cliffs and sandy wastelands. Indeed, once characters set foot on this new land, they will discover that this is precisely the case: the island is divided by a dark ribbon of water, an east side rich with life and a west side stark and rife with danger.
And yet, it isn't that simple.
Feeling prepared? Now is the time to make arrangements and collect what you'll need for the journey. Find companions, say goodbye to loved ones- and of course, take your first step forwards into new lands. Best of luck, adventurers.
You may need it.
Welcome to the new island of Monsun! As the island is now accessible, feel free to begin preparations and explorations in this log- or create new ones of your own! For further information in regards to the island, or plotting, the following links may prove handy:

Drat. Not Noctis. Of course, the Storyteller couldn't be kind enough to leave him with the one person he needs to make sure stays safe. Ignis sighs, running a hand through his hair.]
Greetings. Is this little exploration party just you and me or are there others? I'm afraid seeing things isn't my strong point.
[He motions to his sunglasses and the scars peaking from below them as if it should make why clear. There is really no need for him to waste time explaining the obvious, right? They have more important things to do.]

[Ignis ought to recognize the voice at least: there's only one blood elf on this island.]
[Mar rocks his legs back, then snaps them straight to spring up to his feet in a surprising display of athleticism considering his plate mail.]
And maybe you should, though I hate to say that you're not quite my type...

[ He has to bite back the comment he wants to make to the... elf? Something along the lines of, You'll have to tell me if there's one around. It doesn't pay to be rude or allow his mask to slip off. Cole and Asch may be able to see through the facade, but he's determined to keep it that way. ]
Are we going to keep talking about personal tastes, or shall we start looking around for an answer or something similarly helpful?

[Ignis pulls his knapsack to hand, a quick check confirming the food, water, and other supplies he packed are all still where they should be. As he does so, he continues speaking.]
I realize it will slow us down and likely be irritating, but I would appreciate it if someone could describe the general area to me and any particular plants or animals that catch your eye. If we're lucky I might recognize them.
If you're both open to a suggestion, I also think it would be to our benefit to stick near to the river I believe I'm hearing off to the west. If nothing else, it should give us a source of fresh water.

[Ignis is right, it WILL slow them down and prove irritating, but luckily Mar respects the other man as a fellow cook. That's enough to quell the annoyance for the time being.]
Quick combat readiness check, though? [The question goes to the first man, since Ignis is clearly not a demon hunter and thus probably doesn't have some sort of pactbound compensation for his eyesight. Mar, of course, assumes his own skill is self-evident, what the the plate mail, sword, shield, and mace he's all wearing.]
no subject
No, I'm sure that won't be a problem. I'll do my best to describe what I see and am unsure of.
[ ... which, admittedly, will be a lot. But he turns to Maridian now. ]
I have plenty of combat experience. In a sense... you could call it magic. My skills have been dampened and limited in number, however, but I shouldn't have an issue fighting.
Shall we exchange names, as well? I'm Goro Akechi.

[As he speaks, Ignis raises one hand. This is not done in a threatening manner, even though he would never blame someone for being startled at the dagger that appears from thin air. He effortlessly flips and spins it through his fingers before letting it vanish again making it quite clear to 'certain' parties, he's not being left out of this battle readiness check just because he can't see. Fortunately for all involved, his magic doesn't require vision to use.]
A great many of our skills have been limited upon our arrival here. I suspect those playing chess with us wish to make sure we never have enough power to actually challenge them.

[He slides the shield off his back, slipping his arm into the straps in the same motion, as he draws his mace.]
Since the Light only knows what's lurking around here. I almost find the pleasantness of this suspicious.
no subject
[ He says it with a smile, but there's an irritated note to his voice. It's understandable, though, isn't it? Only five skills spread out between two Personas... it's laughable. Downright offensive. ]
It's best to keep alert. It surely wouldn't do to be caught off-guard by a nasty monster. [ He pauses, hand at his chin. ] With all of that settled, shall we proceed? I assume I'll take the rear, with Scientia-san in the middle, and Maridian-san in the front... if that is how we wish to proceed?
[ But the way he says it suggests that it's the right way to go about it. ]
no subject
[Oh wow, does someone sound bitter. Still, bitter or no, Ignis doesn't let it interfere with more important matters.]
That does seem to be the wisest course of action. Let the Shield do what he is best equipped to do.
[At least Ignis is used to the idea of a party member whose job it is to stand as Shield. He would rather fight beside said Shield than behind, but he knows he is no where near ready for that no matter how much the idea stings his pride.
He pulls himself to his feet, brushing his pants as clean as he can and then swinging his knapsack onto his shoulders.]
Shall we begin? Please don't hesitate to pull me back into line should I begin to stray.
no subject
[The wavering connection he feels to the Sunwell has been a source of concern and irritation to him, but cursing the Light itself may be a step farther than he'd ordinarily take. Still, he thinks nothing of his casual exclamation as he moves into the front of the party like he's born to be there.]
