Ruins Mingle Log!
Who: Newt Geiszler
ohnehalfte and EVERYONE
What: So a bunch of people headed up towards the ruins, so they've got to all run into each other and start to congregate, right???
When: Evening of the mingle log and onwardish.
Where: The Ruins
Warnings: Um...same as the mingle log?

The beach curves up a gentle slope until it meets forest, some manner of building visible through the trees. Further exploration of this area will reveal a dilapidated building of sorts; the architecture is indiscernible to even the most skilled eye. Despite looking as if it has seen better days, there are areas that offer some form of shelter...and who knows what else. Just because it appears uninhabited doesn’t mean you won’t wind up pleasantly, or unpleasantly, surprised.
[ooc: Hey y'all! I thought this might be a good place to start getting larger groups of characters together to do some exploring, settling down, banding together and figuring out rations, etc. Feel free to throw up any threads of your own for specific things like exploration groups, a gathering in the entrance hall, whatever strikes your fancy or that you think your character would organize. Have a party!
Edit: Additionally, there is now an OOC Post for those that want to handwave their character signing up for ruin exploration]

[They seem about ready to begin deliberating a response when Chara shuffles on up. Frisk looks over with a glance, automatically scooting aside to let their Partner sit down. The only indication that they had ever been avoiding Chara's sight is a quick sweep of their gaze towards the pocket they had seen the razor disappear into; their body language is entirely unconcerned otherwise.]
[In light of Chara's observation, Frisk elects to stay silent and let Ed answer. You could say they're... clamming up? Lol.]
no subject
[He isn't put off by Kidwun's interruption at all, casting them a friendly grin and nod as they settle down beside Kittu. The razor is already tucked away, and Ed is careful to not make any indications of it's presence other than meeting Kittu's worried glance with a reassuring smile. He'll keep it secret, kiddo, no worries.]
Sushi? What's--oh, right, the raw fish stuff. [Edward snickers and sets the coiled rope aside, then plucks up some long sticks he'd grabbed before--the ends have already been cut to a sharp enough point to act as rudimentary skewers.] Most food doesn't look all that great until you prepare it, does it? Even I don't drool over a plain raw steak, you know.
[Is it appropriate to joke about being an animal around kids you're wanting to be on good terms with? Hell if he knows.]
no subject
It likely would do a better job than the pink knife on their hip.]
We don't have much familiarity with seafood- but I suppose we'll see how it tastes when prepared.
[Their lips quirk upwards, glancing over at Frisk slyly. It's too- them. Who they really are, but the temptation is too high to ignore it.]
You feel like your taste-buds are going to have an adventure.

Crab apples aren't that bad.
[With two flicks of their wrist, the clam shell pops open and the meat inside slides into the bowl. They've always been a quick learner.]
no subject
[There's probably a joke somewhere in this, but he's not sure he would like it very much.]
I'm pretty sure crabapples aren't related at all to crustaceans--'least not the ones I've seen before. [He casts a questioning glance at the two, then grins.] I've usually had the normal kind of fish before, so it'll be a learning experience for all of us.
no subject
Chara only has five.]
I agree with Edward; crab apples are not seafood, Kittu. [Accepting the small pile of shells, they watch Frisk's approach to opening them, before taking a go at it themself. Their motions are quick and efficient- once they've attempted the first, they're quickly moving onto the next.] If none of us are familiar with these, I suppose we'll also be experimenting on cooking times.
no subject
[They know absolutely nothing about cooking clams, actually.]
Does the smell go away when you cook them?
[It's pretty rank my dudes.]
no subject
[Both siblings are quick learners, and Ed watches over Kidwun and Kittu's efforts for a moment more before plucking a few pieces of clam meat out of the bowl to stab onto the skewers.]
I would think so, but we'll find out. They'd probably smell a little better after being washed, but I don't wanna use up the drinking water right now.
no subject
...Perhaps they'll try one first, just in case.
Plus, Edward brings up another point. Again, their attention diverts back to Frisk, eyeing them off critically.]
Have you had anything to drink since we arrived here?
[And no, Partner. Coconut ice cream doesn't really count.]
no subject
[Maybe one day they'll stop examining every flicker of violence they ever inflict on anything.]
[Then they seem to register Chara's words in context, and give a firmer shake of their head as they return to their task. Thirst is the lesser discomfort right now, when their SOUL still feels akin to a blinking light unhinged from its wires in the aftermath of that broken LOAD.]
I'm not thirsty again yet.
[That might sound contradictory to Ed, but doubtless Chara will get it.]
of course you tagged right in the like six hour window of me not having a paid how in the fuck
[While he continues preparing the skewer Ed's tail snakes into his pack and pulls out another coconut shell half, then reaches around to place it on the ground between Kittu and Kidwun. Holding the first skewer out over the fire, he casts them a smile.]
Wouldn't hurt to have some now, anyway.
