Ruins Mingle Log!
Who: Newt Geiszler
ohnehalfte and EVERYONE
What: So a bunch of people headed up towards the ruins, so they've got to all run into each other and start to congregate, right???
When: Evening of the mingle log and onwardish.
Where: The Ruins
Warnings: Um...same as the mingle log?

The beach curves up a gentle slope until it meets forest, some manner of building visible through the trees. Further exploration of this area will reveal a dilapidated building of sorts; the architecture is indiscernible to even the most skilled eye. Despite looking as if it has seen better days, there are areas that offer some form of shelter...and who knows what else. Just because it appears uninhabited doesn’t mean you won’t wind up pleasantly, or unpleasantly, surprised.
[ooc: Hey y'all! I thought this might be a good place to start getting larger groups of characters together to do some exploring, settling down, banding together and figuring out rations, etc. Feel free to throw up any threads of your own for specific things like exploration groups, a gathering in the entrance hall, whatever strikes your fancy or that you think your character would organize. Have a party!
Edit: Additionally, there is now an OOC Post for those that want to handwave their character signing up for ruin exploration]

[But Ichimatsu found him, and that's the important part. His gait is as slow as ever as he shuffles over, hands shoved into his hoodie pockets, mask drawn over his face.]
There you are, Osomatsu-niisan.
[Lightly scolding. Clearly, the eldest was the one who got lost.]
no subject
O-Oi? Whaddayou mean "There you are?" I've been looking for you this whole time! I made a tent, and cooked rice! It was all for you guys! [he didn't do everything himself, but it was hard anyway]
no subject
You're kidding me... Osomatsu-niisan did? But that's so responsible...
[Scary???]
no subject
Um, yeah! I'm totally responsible! [???????] You should be praising me!
1/2
Ah, sorry, sorry... you did work hard, huh? Thanks, Niisan.
no subject
Where is it.
no subject
...Where's what?
no subject
[Did we mention that what he has eaten recently is a giant mound of sugar?]
The food.
no subject
Oh! W-well, there might be some left. [he turned to look towards where he'd been staying, where he and that guy had cooked the rice in the coconut] Ah, it's over there. But I don't think it's hot anymore.
no subject
[Ah, there it is. Ichimatsu tugs his mask down, snatches up the coconut, and starts shoveling down cold, sticky mounds of rice with his hands.]
[Itadakimatsu.]
no subject
he finally looks away because he can't bear to watch his little brother eat like a ravenous animal, even though he would probably be the same were it the other way around. anyway, going to wait for that other embarrassment to show up]

Without a word, he walks past Osomatsu, and dumps half a packet of dried fruit down next to the youngest. Grow up strong, small flower....]
This place sucks. Totty better have made some good yen for this.
no subject
[Embarrassing. He might be saved from death, but his pride will definitely die after this. Was he really that hungry?]
Doubt it.
[And back to his meal he goes.]
no subject
If Totty's really behind this, we gotta find a way home an' kick his ass. [he's a good brother]
no subject
[Wrong game, Shittymatsu.]
no subject
[Dunno what the fuck Shittymatsu is talking about. His solution is simple.]
I'll kill him.
no subject
Well, we can't kill him until we get outta this place. [he looks around, at everyone else in the ruins] Though... I dunno if Totty's behind this. Unless he knew all these other people, too.
no subject
and lonelyas that tiny apartment was, he almost wishes he was back there.Almost. For all it's negatives, there is ...two positives]
The pirates could've bought other people... maybe Totty had some help?
[As unlikely as it is, that's Karamatsu's story, and he's sticking to it.]
no subject
[Working alone, with accomplices, Ichimatsu is going to kill Totty either way. Though he admits that Osomatsu has a good point. He has a hard time imagining Todomatsu lowering himself to socializing with the likes of that banchō creep or the wizard.]
[At the moment, though, it's a bit moot. They should probably focus on more immediate problems -- like their pool of supplies.]
... hey. Let's see what we've got between us.
no subject
Osomatsu gets down on his knees and tugs over his knapsack]
Let's see! I've got about a half a sack of rice left, this hatchet! [don't let Osomatsu keep the hatchet] A tarp that I learned how to make a tent out of, and... [this last thing? he pulls it out, sniffs it] Soap? [oh, there's something else in here... ta-da! a compass!]
Eh? A watch?
no subject
It's a compass- I have one too...
[And shortly after, the fishing line and first aid kit join the pile.
The knife stays in his bag, not even acknowledged.]
We can fish, at least. And trade one of these compasses.
Ichimatsu?
no subject
These. [He pulls out a bottle of what look like pills and plunks them into the sand next to the fishing line. His voice is level, but there's a line of irritation between his eyes. It feels like someone is making fun of him, giving him those. A jar of rubbing alcohol as well as a sopping wet blanket also join the pile.]
And this.
[Unlike his brother, Ichimatsu absolutely pulls his knife and stabs it into the sand in front of him.]
... and this.
[And then he also pulls out about four feet of silver-colored rope, coiling it tightly around his hands.]
no subject
...Hey, I wonder who gave us these knapsacks. It seems weird that we arrived with 'em, right?
no subject
Maybe they were handing out packs of tools...for our slave work.
[He would've been fine with being a fisherman, honestly. What better way to waste the entire day?]
