What: So a bunch of people headed up towards the ruins, so they've got to all run into each other and start to congregate, right???
When: Evening of the mingle log and onwardish.
Where: The Ruins
Warnings: Um...same as the mingle log?

The beach curves up a gentle slope until it meets forest, some manner of building visible through the trees. Further exploration of this area will reveal a dilapidated building of sorts; the architecture is indiscernible to even the most skilled eye. Despite looking as if it has seen better days, there are areas that offer some form of shelter...and who knows what else. Just because it appears uninhabited doesn’t mean you won’t wind up pleasantly, or unpleasantly, surprised.

[ooc: Hey y'all! I thought this might be a good place to start getting larger groups of characters together to do some exploring, settling down, banding together and figuring out rations, etc. Feel free to throw up any threads of your own for specific things like exploration groups, a gathering in the entrance hall, whatever strikes your fancy or that you think your character would organize. Have a party!

....is that a Lycanroc?

[ she looks so absolutely stunned!! What!!! What!!!!!!! What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ]

Y-yeah, she!! O-oh, wow! Yeah! She is!

[IT'S GREAT THAT YOU'RE EXCITED LUNA BECAUSE NEWT IS ALSO EXCITED!!! His face splits into a grin, weirdly warping his scars, but it can't mask the sheer enthusiasm in his face] Dude, of course I know what a Lycanroc is! I-I mean, pokemon don't exist in my world, except in video games, but like--she's yours, right? [He's dropping to a knee immediately, putting him level with Chiffon] Can I say hi? [CAN I PLEASE PET YOUR DOG?!]

In video games? O-oh, yes, definitely!

[ Chiffon borks at him with a slight tail wag!! Are you?? Wanting to offer your pets?? Because we love pets, yes. Luna laughs. ]

So you...don't have pokemon where you're from? [ she wants to ask seriously but Newt is legit so excited that Luna can't keep a straight face. ]

[DOG!!! CUTE DOG!!! CUTE DOG THAT IS WAGGING HER TAIL AT HIM!!!! newt will absolutely take that as a sign that this dog would like some attention, and he's reaching out to scratch her behind the ears] Nah. I mean, real Pokemon was definitely a childhood daydream of mine. I even researched some cloning methods when I was ten to see if it might be possible one day! But, yeah...it wasn't. [he wrinkles his nose]

But still! [BACK TO ENTHUSIASM] This is, like...a childhood dream come true for me right now, you don't even know.

[ the excitement feels like flattery, and Luna feels a little bashful at the attention. Cloning and all that seems a bit much, and even then Luna doesn't really understand it beyond the standard definition of cloning, but!! Gosh he seems so happy!!

Chiffon moves to be pet, scooting forward just a bit and nudging his hand with her face!!! Proceed with the pets!! ]

She loves to be pet...you haven't seen any other pokemon around here, have you? I only washed up with two, and...so that means that I'm missing four of them.

[skdfhs THE DOG!!! NUDGED HIS HAND!!! WITH HER FACE!!!!!!!!!!! Newt is kind of dying internally here because omg. But he's totally dropping to his butt on the floor so he can dedicate both hands to petting her without losing his balance. He glances up at Luna at the question, though]

Um....not that I can think of. I mean...[he frowns, then, trying to dig through some really hazy memories]...maybe? I think there was a guy that had a couple...

[BUT ANYWAY] Which ones are you looking for? I mean, what type of pokemon?

[ she seems a little disheartened, but only for a second. He asks what to look for, and she makes herself perk back up. ]

A guy? And, um...I'm missing...a Wailord, and an Incineroar...and a Bewear, and a Ribombee! Do you know what they look like...?

[Newt brightens a bit as she starts listing off pokemon] Yeah! I know what kind of pokemon those are! Though, dude, no offense, but I have zero idea how you'd feed a Wailord at this juncture and in this place--aren't they really really huge?

Yeah...well, usually I let him do the majority of his feeding near the shore-- he goes out to eat and then comes back and tries to wash up on shore because he loves to be pet! [ she laughs at first, and it sombers up a bit. ] ...

They're really big, yeah. [ she makes herself smile and then brings her hands up to either side of her face, patting her cheeks-- then Luna's little arms go out to her sides in a long stretch!!! ] They're huge!! The biggest pokemon that I have-- er, had, with me!

Man--that sounds really cool! [Newt's grinning, listening to her describe it] I hope I get to meet him one day.

I'm sure that you will! Someday.. [ she looks more determined than ever. They have to be around here, somewhere! No use in feeling sorry for yourself! ]

Well! For now, Nina, Chiffon, and I will just have to take care of each other! And whoever needs our help, too!

[ all good things come in time. Have patience. Something a kahuna told her once, but...Luna's not very patient. She's just gonna have to TRY EXTRA DING DANG HARD ]

[still ttly scratching ur Lycanroc behind the ears over here, Luna] Well, there's definitely gonna be a lot of work to do around here, especially until we get some more info about who-slash-what is keeping us on this island or brought us here in the first place.

Right... [ she looks down at Chiffon, who is ascending to pupper heaven in all of these good ear scritches like we have made it to heaven tiny human wat r u complain about ]

...well, regardless, if you ever need help, we're more than happy to help! Aren't we, Chiffon?

[ Chiffon borks, and then lays against Newt's legs. pets. pets. so good. ]

[sldkfhsdfs the dog is laying against his legs Newt is so happy right now, grinning widely as he reaches over to rub Chiffon's belly, glancing back up at Luna] There's definitely going to be a lot to do around here and lots to help with, so I'll definitely take you up on that once we get some more things sorted out. Because yeah--it's better that we're a group and then can organize things to do from there.
