What: Various prompt for Nyx during the month. From checking in on the chocobros, to patroling Islet 31 to trying to (and failing) to get some coconuts.
When: Throughout the month
Where: Various Places
Warnings: None really, but probably discussions of trauma and injuries with the chocobros.

A: Closed to Chocobros - Backdated to the start of the month because I"m the worst

So. A certain Chancelor sure has arrived on the islands. That's sure a thing that's happened. It should come as no surprise then that the moment he's done with his conversation with Ardyn he's all but running, warping at times, in search of three familiar faces.

He'd never spoken to Ardyn prior to today. There'd never been a reason - partly because Ardyn was the Chancellor of Nifleheim and Nyx was just a soldier. Even if they had bumped into each other at the party the night prior to the Treaty signing, the trap, Nyx wouldn't have said much outside a brief hello. Their first conversation had actually been rather civil, for the most part, despite everything that had happened. Despite the fact, Nyx had spent it barely managing to ignore the anger seeping through his veins.

Anger that he was still ignoring, the need to find Ignis, Prompto and Noctis taking priority. They would be more affected by Ardyn's arrival then him. It takes him longer than he would have liked to find one of the three, but when he does he all but skids to a stop, taking a few hasty steps towards them. For Ignis he makes sure his steps are loud and clear.

"Are you alright?"

Okay. That's not alarming at all Nyx.

B: Patroling - Islet #1

Nyx couldn't sleep. That wasn't an uncommon fact these days. In fact, since arriving on Ensō he's not sure he's slept the night through once.

Tonight was no different and instead of trying to sleep in his little shack - one he really needed to work on fixing up a bit more than he has - Nyx slips out the door with one of his daggers in hand. He was restless and he knows there are quite a few reasons that have lead to his restlessness, all of which won't be solved anytime soon. A fact that was frustrating, but one he, unfortunately, had to accept.

He stood in the night, stretching his arms above his head as he looks up at the sky and stars.

Well, he might as well do something useful. With that thought in mind, he gives his weapon a little flip before setting off. He'd do a quick sweep or two of the islet, just to make sure everything was alright.

C: How to coconut? - The Beach

It was still early in the morning when anyone passing by the beach might find Nyx standing stubbornly under a palm tree, glaring up at the coconuts at the top. He'd set out that morning with the intention of collecting some to use for meals and such. However he had quickly realized that actually picking them wasn't as easy as he initially thought.

Which was really annoying because he'd gotten coconuts down before. Of course his previous tactic had been warping up and grabbing one but everytime he'd even considered using magic his arm had given an unconcious throb of pain. Opting to do things the old fashion way he'd tried just... Climbing the tree.

Given that he's now covered in sand and dirt from falling it's easy to tell that didn't go as planned.

Help the poor guy out?

D: Wildcard!

One of the many things that Ignis lost the ability to do easily when he lost his vision was finding a place where he could be alone with his thoughts. When he was young, being flexible and light on his feet made finding a spot child's play. That only became easier once training started putting muscle on his lean frame; all he had to do was go up and at the Citadel there was plenty of up to go to. Not many ever thought to look up to find the calm, intelligent boy who followed the prince around like a shadow.

Without vision, though, scaling anything is out of the question. The last thing he wants to do is give anyone a heart attack. Fortunately, the rundown cottage they claimed for their own isn't far from what has been described to him as a cove. It's not up where the wind can carry his worries away, but waves can carry things away just as well.

Even more fortunate--this time for Nyx--the area is in a direct line of sight from the little shack the Glaive claimed as his own. Once he makes his way to the islet, finding Ignis won't be all that hard. Of course, it's not likely that Nyx will much like what he finds.

Ignis looks tired, distant, and very small. He sits, not like a man relaxing to the sound of the waves, but one trying to hide behind the knees drawn to his chest without making it obvious that's what he's doing.

Even alone, it seems Ignis can't let down all his defenses. He feels lost enough as it is without adding feeling totally exposed to it.

When Nyx approaches and speaks, Ignis forces a smile to his face, but doesn't turn to face his former mentor. Instead, he continues to focus intently on the waves he cannot see.

"Oh, I'm just peachy. Don't concern yourself with me. Is something the matter?"

He can't really take something else going wrong on top of his blindness, the Six-damned Chancellor being there, and oh, has he mentioned the boy he's raised since childhood is going to have to die to save the world, but that doesn't mean he's not going to ask anyway. Ignis might be held together by sheer shattered will at the moment, but that doesn't mean he won't keep going until every last shard drops to the floor.

He knows no other way.

Ignis has to bite back on the first response that comes to mind. After all, telling Nyx that peaches very well can be bitter or sour as well as sweet isn't the answer the Glaive is looking for. Besides, it gives away more about how he's feeling than he wants to give, not that he believes in the slightest he's fooling Nyx. The man knows him too well.

And yes, he can totally feel that look. It's part of the reason his arms tightly just slightly around his legs before he finally speaks, "He's certainly a problem. I dearly wish he were the only one, but it seems fate is not that kind."

Did Nyx know of the fate that Noctis was expected to just accept? Did anyone in the Glaive? Probably not considering the fact that they were suppose to focus on protecting the king. If those who were suppose to raise and protect Noctis didn't know, why would they?

Oh, how he wants to talk about it. To rage about it; to cry about it, but he promised Noctis he wouldn't say anything to anyone. For now, he will just have to deal with focusing on Ardyn.

Wonderful. What a perfect way to spend the day. It isn't as if his nightmares aren't already haunted by the man.

"How did he act when he spoke to you?"
