(It occurs to them, as they plunge into the water, that they do not know if the Drifter is able to swim.
Swimming is not a concern for Legion: their form is not buoyant, but they do not need to breathe.
If the Drifter is unable to swim, however, this escape could be as fatal to them as staying to fight.
They look for their ally, beneath the surface.)
