It's not the first time Zidane's heard this sort of talk. He's heard it from others and while he doesn't have enough information to come to a conclusion about that, it does feel like that is the case sometimes.
A long pause and...] ......Yeah......pressing on is all we can do.....[He a pause to breathe.].....Something this bad happens.......when a lot of us die.....and I can only do so much to stop it...[And he feels ashamed saying this, but he has to.].... and then I can't help but feel so damn lost! Even though I know it's impossible to protect everyone...
[His tail curls around his feet as he accepts the fact he let that out. The plants on his neck start to drop off. His neck is bleeding and sore from the injuries it has left but....he'll deal with that later.
But Keith....feels the same, right? He's been here longer and has seen more of this. And yet he still presses on, even though it must be agony for him. And yet that's the best thing to do at this point.]
However.....it's not as if we....haven't discovered anything while investigating, even if it's only....we can find out what happened to Monsun. If there's someone trying to fuck around with us......we can find that out too and stop 'em! I'm sure....
[And he closes his eyes, his voice is quieter and yet there's an air of determination.] No, I have to believe that we can! I have to believe we can find a way out. If I don't.....I'd be breaking my promise....I told Dagger I'd come back to her.....I can't back out of that by giving up and dying here!
[And he has to push forward....even if it's for Keith's sake....for everyone else's sake, as miserable as their situation is right now.]
