[Well, that sudden shift in expression isn't hard at all to spot, and Guzma raises a brow questioningly when it happens. Did he say something that struck a nerve somewhere? For all he thought, the guy seemed totally into what he was explaining, and Guzma was more than glad to talk for days about pokemon - they're a popular topic of conversation even amongst people of his world, especially trainers - but now he's not sure.
He's quiet, waiting and watching his companion, jumping up a little when the silence is broken suddenly. He clears his throat, standing up to check on the food he prepared earlier, using a long stick to pull the leafy bundle out to check the contents as he talks.]
...Yeah, she's prob'ly been through more'n any Trial-goer I know. [Looks good, everything should be ready to eat now. He uses his hoodie to secure the bundle without burning his hands, rushing a bit to place it down near where they were sitting. The smell is strong and savory, with just a hint of char - very nice indeed.] Mm? Well, uh...I-I got two of 'em. Trainers usually carry up to six at a time, but I got five normally on my team...and on;y two here. Same with the kid.
[His own tone shifts, and Guzma utters a long sigh, it's still hard, knowing the other three are waiting back home for him. He misses them, thinks and worries about them constantly... His partners, and his very best friends - they've seen him through many tough times. Guzma adores his pokemon more than the people in his life, to an extent, so being without even one is painful. The ache has dulled some but...it's never really gone.]
