ohshitsweetflips: (technically that's on me)

It's a strangely tense moment, being--evaluated? Judged? By a literal child, pillar or not. Taako shouldn't feel as relieved as he does when they resume their more casual bearing; he assumes he passed. Great, perfect, Taako definitely comprehends and accepts that unspoken agreement that just happened, wholeheartedly, probably. You know, at least you always knew where you stood with the twins in their younger days; you got your stuff stole or on fire, but it was still a simpler time. Kids today, it's all knives and inscrutability.

Unconsciously he mirrors them, a bit, stepping closer, sort of committing his focus to this conversation in a way he hasn't so far. He's an educated wizard who's seen some shit, has he heard of Shadows? He thinks for a second, eyes darting quick up and to one side (the memory side, not the lie side--he's good at suppressing that one) while he concludes he hasn't. "Not in whatever way you mean, probably. Should I have? Or am I about to?"
