The only sound they'll ever make, will likely never make again, isn't something that matches the cry their sibling once made; that is the Hollow Knight's voice, a scream to express pain, and it's not for them. It's not the shriek of voices unheard; they no longer have the power of those sleeping voices within them to do that.
It's a frustrated, upset noise, somewhere halfway between a snarl and a roar. If anyone was around to hear it, it would grate unpleasantly; it's far lower than a sound any living creature should make.
As it is, it stirs a few nearby wildlife into sudden flight, and the Knight makes no indication that they cried out at all.
They don't know what they'll do yet. But they trust it isn't forever. What else can they do? ]
