The Batter had only gotten the basics of what the God had to offer so he was lacking the details of why the Storyteller needed what it needed.
Perhaps that was the downside of being someone who did not dive too deeply into the 'hows' and 'whys' of others. But it's best to not get into that subject at all either.]
