"Not sure I would consider that being a liar either, but there's definitely something for pure honesty. Sometimes it's fine line between protecting their feelings and being real."

He paused a second and considered everything.

"Or were you talking about hiding something about you to make sure people got along with you?"

He had gotten some vague flicker of that through his head, but hadn't wanted to mentally dig deeper into it.
