There were more details to Shion's story that he didn't seem comfortable with sharing. Jaune may not have understood the full extent of mental pain and trauma Shion and the others faced, but it wasn't something anyone should have gone through. Especially someone who had been as kind as Shion. He tried reaching out to hold his hand, hoping to return some of the reassurance Shion had given him multiple times.
