It's a new experience to watch a family interact like this. The jab, the comments-all of it. The books she would find scattered across Tokyo didn't prepare her for this, but there's a comfortable air about the two of them that puts her at ease. That makes her feel like this is natural. Granted, her experiences with people are 99% limited to this island anyway.
It's hard to take her eyes off the two of them. Even when she gets the okay to look at the merchandise from Taako, Ren continues to eye them. Her hands glide over all these neat treasures and thankfully, it's not until Lup's demonstration ends that she decides to grab something with her grubby hands. A piece of writing charcoal. With it firmly in her grasp, she takes a step back and mimics the stab into the sky. She's not a fighter, more of a hider, and doesn't understand the connection Lup's trying to make. It leaves a literal impression on her-the items here are for dusting. Meaning to hold them into the sky.
"Oh, it's easy to dust things." Her eyes light up and she stands on her toes, holding the charcoal up as high as she can. "I can dust this high too."
