[When Shepard was a child, she had heard some vague stories of vaqueros, or cowboys, riding tirelessly through what used to be the vast, unforgiving desert of a portion of what was called America, wrangling cattle and making a tough, but worthwhile life under the stars. All in all a very romantic idea.

This? This is nothing close to that. Which she should have seen coming the first time she got accosted by these cacti fuckers, but she thinks there is some cosmic comedy to be found in the thought of Commander Fucking Shepard punching a cactus to death.

Their deaths, of course, are not in vain, and Shepard is quick to help in constructing what would be their ticket to that mysterious temple in the middle of that lake. Now it's merely making sure everything is in place to make this voyage as safe as possible. Shepard gently tugs on one of the sinews holding the raft together and speaks.]


You guys think these are seaworthy?

[She's not sure if you use that term for something going on a lake but she doubts that's the biggest issue here.]
