[open] Awoo to you too
Who: Keaton and YOU.
What: Scavenging for treasure, sharing what he's found and testing the limits of his beaststone.
When: November 15th
Where: Various. The beach and the Storyteller's Temple early on, the jungle later.
Warnings: None, will add if anything comes up.
Beach
[The fog does nothing to deter Keaton as he sets off this morning, back to the beach once again since the water receded. Ever since the flooding went away he's been venturing down frequently to see what he can find. At first there was plenty of fish flopped out in the sun and other debris but now he's having to look a little harder.
Careful as you walk around the beach on this foggy day, you might well find yourself tripping over a shallow hole in the sand. And there isn't just the one hole, there are many of them dotted around all over the place. What's worse than falling over a hole? Falling over a pile of days old dead fish, rotting plant life and other questionable material. In both cases the owner of the trash pile and the hole digger can be found not too far away, sifting through the sand.]
So what's it gonna be this time, messed up looking fish or sandy buried seaweed... Neither, broken glass! Neat.
[If you can dodge the holes and piles of junk in the fog, come say hi to the guy with two large ears and a tail who seems to be doing his part in cleaning up the beach.]
Temple
[Whether you're on your way out to the rest of the island or heading to the mana pool to return to the islets, before you can get too far you'll be approached by a very excitable wolfskin. His tail is visibly wagging back and forth, his ears twitching occasionally.]
Hey! Hey. Wanna see something cool? Promise you'll never have seen anything like it before. Never ever.
[And for those that might not be stopped by the promises of something cool, Keaton will follow along after them for a short distance with his hands behind his back as though trying to hide something.]
C'mon, you're really just gonna bail like that? Someone doesn't have very good taste.
[If you do indulge the wolfman then expect to see some sort of gross and disgusting treasure Keaton has managed to find, either from home or what he's dug up on the beach.]
Jungle
[Later in the day, a loud howl can be heard coming from somewhere in the jungle. If it's possible for a howl to sound happy then this is definitely a jovial howl, not one of aggression or anything else. Still, a howl cutting through the air on a day like today when there's fog about? Not the most reassuring thing really.
If you're quick to investigate the source of the howling then you might catch sight of a large white creature through the trees for a brief moment. The creature isn't there for long however, soon replaced by Keaton crumpled up on the floor and panting hard. He looks pretty distressed with his tail hanging low and his ears pressed down against his head. Though he tries getting to his feet his limbs feel far too unstable to support him properly, leading to the wolfskin planting face first into the ground.]
What the heck is this?! It's not meant to feel this way. Why isn't it working, and why is it... Guh, this is stupid...
[It's not like he's in any state to go anywhere right now, so Keaton results to grumbling away to himself until he gets enough strength back he can walk off himself. Unless help arrives before then...]

no subject
[The lack of disgust while actually wanting to discuss his treasures? Awesome. Sure the discussion is about killing people, but that doesn't do much to throw Keaton off.]
They're not for killing though! I've got my own fangs and claws for that. These are for my collection. The comb idea isn't bad though, I should try making a fish comb outta these.
[Ichimatsu isn't the only one who looks like he hasn't brushed his hair in the last forever. Keaton's hair is ruffled, knotted and look like a bird could nest in it at any moment.]
no subject
Is that so?
[He eyes the wolfskin again, mild interest in his expression. Ichimatsu wouldn't say Keaton gives off a particularly dark vibe, but that's neither here nor there. Apparently he's the real deal, if he goes around killing people with his fangs and claws. That's pretty intense.]
Keaton, huh? You must be pretty good at recognizing a trashy aura when you sense it. I'm Ichimatsu.
no subject
[He seems taken aback to hear that. Is there anything trashy even here? Keaton looks down at himself, his fish bone claws, at Ichimatsu... Nope, nothing.]
You lost me. Unless you're referring to these...? [Nodding to his fish bones while giving Ichimatsu a look. These definitely aren't trash, okay?]
no subject
[He rattles all of this off with the totally casual monotone of someone who's more or less rehearsed it a million times.]
Anyway, good for you. Most people would just throw the bones away, even though you can do a lot with 'em.
no subject
Is it obvious? I just came over 'cuz you looked like you would really like to look at my new fish bones. I mean... [He sniffs the air a few times, leaning in close to sniff near the top of Ichimatsu's head.] Yeah, I'm not getting anything weird. No weird vibes, good taste, good advice... Yup, you're fine by me for now.
no subject
[As it is, Ichimatsu endures the guy getting into his personal space with a blank stare. Is this guy.... actually a dog? The ears and the tail kind of look like it, but... he seems kinda feral.]
What are you, anyhow?
no subject
I'm a wolfskin. My people can use these small stones so we can do our wolf thing. [Informative, right? Moving on.] And what are you? You look human.
[That scent has him thinking otherwise however.]
no subject
[He seems pretty dedicated to this. Besides, he's more interested in Keaton, especially now that he has context for those ears and tail.]
Anyway, never heard of a wolfskin. You already look like a wolf to me. What's a stone got to do with anything?
no subject
Anyway, oh boy, talking about his people! Keaton leans in excitedly.]
They're what let us transform! You hold a beaststone and bam, wolf thing done. [Heck if he knows the intricacies of it.] It's pretty intense, I've gotta say. Spooked a few humans in my time by transforming right in front of them.
[Not really. But hey, he's going to big it up a little bit.]
no subject
You can do something like that, huh? So then...
[The second part, mostly mumbled to himself, has him glancing away. He refocuses on Keaton with interest.]
You just need your stone thing for it, then? Not an actual wolf nearby?
no subject
Yup, just the stone. If there's another wolfskin around then hey, we all transform and that's how hunting parties start. But we can do our thing by ourselves no problem... Wanna see?
[Keaton is already reaching back to the small pack at his waist before getting an answer. The fish bones are swapped out for a small purplish-red gem that he holds between thumb and finger for Ichimatsu to see.]
no subject
Sure.
[He steps back a few paces to give the guy room. Despite the lethargic response, he's actually watching quite attentively.]
