That's another hard difference between they and the child sleeping with their head in the other's lap; he can trust, to a certain extent, that they're speaking as they truly feel. Frisk's words are scattered and vague, and at times he has to wonder if what they're saying has anything to do with what they genuinely want as opposed to what they think will make everyone else happy.

If Chara doesn't mind it, then...maybe they don't. Maybe it'd be too cruel to him to presume as such.

"Can't say it rings a bell." He shrugs, slightly rueful. "Was, uh...kind of a slow reader in college."

Maybe he's an audio learner.
